So you and your friends are in the mood for a beauty party...they don't have to turn anywhere else but right back to the kitchen, with help from me, your Pampered Chef ® Consultant! Since time began women have enhanced their looks with nature's bounty, including fruits, grains and vegetables! For some great all natural recipes see some of the ones below. We'll set it up like a food bar only it's called a beauty bar. I'll make it pretty by scattering whole ingredients (fruits, nuts, apple peels, etc.) between some of the already made facials, scrubs and lotions that I'll make ahead of time and a few at the show! Each guest gets a small paper plate to fill it with dabs of facials, lotions and scrubs they'd like to try. I'll have a list of the recipes and how to's to give to each guest to take home. Some samples are listed below, we’ll decide on a few. I'll have some warm (lemon scented) wash cloths (kept warm in a warm stone bowl) or baby wipes for guest to wash off with. We'll also have a pot simmering with apple peels and cinnamon and water to add to the atmosphere! I'll start the show by thinly slicing a cucumber with the ultimate slice n grate. I'll make enough for each guest to have two. Each guest can lean back, relax, and place cucumber slice over each eye to relieve their tired, achy eyes, or rub over face for a pleasantly refreshing feel then we'll move on to demonstrating some great recipe's for relaxation and well being.

Do you have any of the recipes you use at your "Spa" shows? This sounds really neat and something I might try with my grown daughter and her neighborhood girlfriends.

Here is a theme show I just heard about from Rochell in Oregon. Not sure I'm ready to do A pamper Yourself Show but maybe you are!!!

Patsy,
Here's the info. on the Pamper Yourself Show. I did my first PY show in June and it was a $850 show with 3 bookings. Everyone commented on how wonderful and different it was, and how relaxed they were. It's great to do with your repeat hosts or customers who have been to many PC shows. Also, with the upcoming stressful holiday season, this could be an awesome show to promote. I can't claim it as my own idea, but I'm glad I had the opportunity to talk to Cheryl DeHart, who made this idea up. She's the "Queen of Theme" around here. Let me know if you need anything else. Feel free to edit. Enjoy. Roschell

PAMPER YOURSELF
The idea is to indulge in the ultimate relaxation. We do not pamper ourselves near enough! Hope you'll enjoy. Cheryl DeHart, Director in The Dalles, OR.

SHOW IDEAS:
Let the focus be on pampering yourself--that doesn't mean facial treatments or massage only- start with dessert and beverage.

POSSIBLE INTRO:
"Let me thank all of you for coming to ____________ today. I am _________ and I am here today to pamper you." My plan for you is to first tempt your palates with a decadent dessert, then as your enjoying every delicious bite, you can choose from a soothing foot soak, rejuvenating facial scrub or mask, or a soft and supple hand treatment. In addition to all of this you will all be taking home a sample of the foaming bath oil I'll be making to try out yourselves this evening in the privacy of your own bathtub. Sound good? Let's begin."

It's up to the consultant to decide if those attending the show do more than one activity.
Everyone can come in their Pajamas, even the Consultant.
You can have a Massage Therapist (MT) there to further enhance the relaxation theme. (I have the MT charge her own rate, usually $3-5 dollars for 5 or 10 minutes depending on how many people are there. Let the MT talk briefly about their business and how they will handle the massage while the Consultant does the demo. It's good potential clients for the MT.
Bring a roll of paper towels to use for the facials and have those interested wrap a few around their face, since it is a bit messy and drips.

RECIPES
Facial Scrub (normal to oily skin)
Chop 2 almonds (until very fine granules), then add 1 tsp. lemon juice and 1 tsp. honey. Mix well and apply to face rubbing gently. Let sit for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.

Facial Mask (normal skin)
Peel 2-3 large carrots and cut off ends. Cook whole carrots in saucepan until soft. Mash carrots and add 41/2 tbsp. of honey, mix well. Apply to face and let sit 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm wtaer and pat dry. While maask is setting for 10 minutes, put feet up and place two sliced cucumbers over eyes.

Foot Soak
1/2 c. baking soda
1/4 c. cornstarch
1/4 c. citric acid (usually have to special order this from a pharmacy)
Aloe Vera Gel
Frangrance Oil (sweet almond oil, vanilla or tea rose is nice)
Oil from 3 Vitamin E capsules (olive oil also works well)

Whisk dry indredients until smooth. Add aloe vera, vitamin E and fragrance oil and mix well. Mist with wter while mixing until mixture holds together. Put into mini muffin pan and let dry (approximately 2 hours). When ready to use, place one tablet in the already warm water of a foot massager.

Honey Vanilla Foaming Bath Oil
1 c. oil (vegetable, olive, or my favorite is sweet almond oil)
1/2 c. honey
1/2 c. liquid soap (can be lotion based for extra softness, or not)
1 tbsp. vanilla extract

Whisk all ingredients together in batter bowl and pour into clean container with tight fitting lid. (I use the Mini Round Gladware containers, 1/2 cup size and only put about 1/4 cup of Bath Oil in each) Ingredients will separate over time, shake container well before using desired amount in bathtub under running water.
Makes 16 oz.

Hi Tasha,
Could you be specific as to WHICH EXACT file you're looking to view? MSN is giving us server issues BIG TIME lately, & unfortunately it's affecting the downloading of our documents. While SOME of the docs have been able to be re-uploaded, there are a great deal of them that have not. It's a VERY TIME-CONSUMING process, so please bear with us till we get them re-uploaded, ok? In the meantime please let us know WHICH one or ones of them you'd like to take a look at.
Thanks for your patience, Tasha,
Marian
PS I'll post a link to this thread over on the General board so more ppl take a look over here on the Theme Show board, & hopefully someone can help you out!
