With MSN officially closing their groups, we have made the decision to move our group to multiply.com. Rest assured that I am working on this behind the scenes and there is NO reason whatsoever to freak out or panic. Be patient. I will keep you posted and give you updates as I get them. In the meantime, feel free to post any questions/comments in this thread. ~Allison |

Allison, are you having any problems at Multiply? From what I've been reading at CF there are all kinds of problems right now. Are you going to use their migration tool or wait and transfer the group step by step on your own. I've read that the migration tool hasn't worked properly. If you use their migration tool and use the same group name as here this group(MSN group) will be wiped out.
I've decided not to move my groups to Multiply. Going to move them over to Yuku. They have a message board more similar to MSN, plus you can have photo albums. Seems more user friendly than Multiply.

I am hoping to migrate it this weekend. I've looked at both options, Microsoft Live and Multiply and I think Multiply is the better option for our group. I will be sure to keep everyone posted. Stay tuned....hopefully we will have a smooth migration. ~Allison |

When I migrate the group over to Multiply, this group will still exist until Feb, 2009 when MSN Groups closes. |

Allison, the reason I asked is that I know quite a few managers who migrated there groups already over to Multiply and when they went back to check their msn groups were gone. Like I said, many problems with migrations. |

i belong to a group about GH...and our manager moved us over to a yuku board, one that she created.....so far, we're doing ok with it..i have belonged to yuku boards in the past....so i was already logged in.....which solved some of the problem..but i really do like the yuku boards. i think that i created a persona for myself on the other board, but not that sure, because i have yet to use it......but for coming over here, i will... but truth be told, i really do prefer the yuku boards. susan |

When you move the group over to Yuku, do you have to back up everything and move it yourself or is it moved for you? |

You have to do the work yourself. For me and others I know it is well worth it and not worth taking the risk migrating to Multiply which seems to be giving everyone major headaches right now. Just yesterday a friend of mine tried migrating over to multiply and when she went back to check on it she had been removed as owner/manager and someone she doesn't even know was in her place. Now that is bad ! |

Meant to add that the only thing I do not like about Yuku is that they don't have a place to add pages. Most managers I know are just putting their extra pages in as extra message boards for know. Maybe one day, in the future, they will make it so you can add pages. |

Well, I was hoping to try to migrate the group this weekend but I have two sick kids and didn't have a chance....sorry! I will keep everyone posted. Still following up on the thread to view other problems people are having, as Mimi has pointed many of them out. |

From my own personal experience, I migrated my family site and it is no longer on MSN but there is a redirector - but the notifications of moving didn't go out via email as promised. I have seen one group mysteriously disappear, but that one didn't migrate to multiply, we started a new group at aimoo.com. We don't have any proof that the mysterious disappearance wasn't a manager accident. |

Awww --- I am sorry you had sick babies :-( That is not fun!
A friend of mine moved over to Multiply and our MSN board is all gone, the redirect takes her to a blank page on multiply, she can't find any of her original information or the new board - she is a little upset.
I created a board over at smfforfree3.com - it is a great free service. You can add/manipulate boards- move them, merge them, delete them, add colors, you can add graphics/pictures - it is great. We are not "backing-up". I have copied my pertinite links etc over to there and will invite everyone over there once I get everything nice and cozy ;-)
