Allison (worldturnsjunkie) and I were chatting about this awhile back, and I thought it would make a good thread for the OT discussion board.

If you have any book recommendations you'd like to share, I'd love to hear them! I'm in a book club, and I'm due to host the next book club meeting (in December). I'm not sure which book to select.

Also, if you have any books that you would strongly NOT recommend, please share that information as well. Lord knows that if someone had warned me about reading "The Time Traveler's Wife" before our book club read earlier this year, I'd never have bothered with it!

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and recommendations.

Thanks!
Taryn (tju-atwt)

i dont' blame you alison.....i will never watch a scary movie..one totally freaked me out when i was a kid..and even though it wasnt' really scary......i still get freaked out about it....but for some reason i love scary books......now mind you..until about 15 years ago...i wouldnt' have read them either..i too would have been freaked..but i started to watch a vampire series on TV...(forever knight)..and that got me out of my stage...and ever since then..i sort of think they're ok.....i'm not sure if i'll ever read stephen king, or the like....i have two of them......the changling and one other..i found the changling at a pool that i go to..someone had left it in the change room...and then the other one..someone at the town hall said that there's books up there if you want them..so one day i had a look..and took a couple......

but i definately know what you mean...that's the reason why i get them in large print from my library it's definately alot easier to read.....too..

way cool....i have one..that i picked up somewhere at home...which one did you read....but if you want to get into her books...then bones is a great series.....

If you like these type of books, I'd highly recommend it. I think Charmaine (expeditionmom) was the one who recommended her in another thread, but I'm not positive on that one. Let me know what you think, if you read it.   ~Allison

The pathologist is based in Quebec
in quebec and new orleans..i believe.....that's where kathy has her practice....in quebec..so that's why she based the books in those two places....

Diane, it's called Deja Dead
that's the one that i tried to read a couple of years ago..i definately know what you're talking about....being just a tadd on the grousome side......maybe i'll go back and reread it......i think her next book in the series is death dejour....along those lines.....she doesnt' quite have all the characters in the series as she does in the books though...like doc brennon's not married..nor does she have a grown daughter....she did add one hunky FBI cop named booth though...lol.......

Sam's Club is just like Costco, I love their books, there are half the price from the bookstores.

Diane, I think the book is actually from 1997. She's got quite a few books in this series.
