I don't think Locke is dead.  I thought the Russian guy was dead and look where that got me - but being in a huge pit of bodies is disgusting!  I am honestly shocked that everyone in the Dharma Initiative was murdered!  Roger "work man" was his dad.. wow so many weird things in yesterday's episode it's kind of hard to mesh it with the show (it was almost too weird, even for LOST).

Sure Ben could just be crazy - we didn't hear Jacob's voice until his back was turned... or course Jacob could also be real (in a way) -  perhaps this some reference to Jacob's ladder (path to heaven)?

In fact, I wonder if Jacob is the black smoke or "eye of the Island" we've been seeing around...

Curious what anyone's thoughts are on this... Ben's mom dies giving birth... now, on the Island, all moms die giving birth - I wonder if it isn't actually Ben's negative energy killing people without him consciously knowing it.

And the people we've been seeing as the others are actually the hostiles... who were there before the Dharma project - but had weapons... saw dead people... and wanted to kill everyone else.

Honestly - I wish Jack had killed Ben when he had the chance but I who knows with LOST now.

Maybe we'll all get lucky and Charlie will finally die (Desmond says he's due) - cause I can't imagine that is it for Locke - dead on a pile of old bones in a mass grave.

Maybe Rouseau will find him?

yes he has killed his demonds..but so have alot of others.....like the aussie...can't remmeber his name...lol..never do...he's faced his drug addiction, but he's still there..sort of idea

His name is Charlie and according to Desmond he's supposed to be dead right now (Desmond has saved his life at least 4 times by knowing the future)

I hope Rousseau does find Locke. I hate to think that we all had so many ideas of Locke being so important to the island and to think he could be gone. Wouldn't it be great for Rousseau to find him? After all, Alex is her daughter. Do you guys think Alex is actually Ben's daughter or that he kidnapped her after Rousseau's boat crashed and has just led her to believe that he is her father?

that kind of threw me for a loop when she called him dad..but now that i think of it..i don't think that she can be...because number one, who is her mom..and then number two..no one on the island can have a baby..so actually where did she even come from...nope think that he kidnapped her....

i can't stand ben..i think that he's a total creep....but i'd love for rousseau to find john so that he can cream ben once and for all.....i'd even accept locke going to work for jacob..what do you all think jacob is...

OK....that season finale has me more confused than ever! That last bit with Jack and Kate happening after they get rescued. And if Naomi isn't who she says she is, then exactly who is she?  I find myself still asking lots of questions after last night's finale and still thoroughly confused as ever...LOL.

I must say that I'm glad Locke isn't dead, although I didn't really like his showdown with Jack. And I wish they wouldn't have killed Charlie off. We all kind of expected him to die so it would've been nice if he got out of there instead. And Hurley had me LOL when he came barreling through camp in the VW van! What a hoot.

that's just what i was going to say..

first with harely he totally had me cracking up the way that he was barelling through..i was so cheering him on...

then there was the stuff at the end...

boy talk about your holes....they have gaps via the ozone layer in this ending, i tell you..

and i wanted to scream at locke at the end.....with wanting to stay...i know why he wants to stay....but so what, stay, dont ruin the others, because of it..

then there was that patched guy..i was screaming at duncan, is that his name...why didnt' you make sure that he was dead, first...that sort of idea....

but yeah, i so didnt' want charlie to die....why can't some of the bad guys die..like the main characters....ben and that patched guy..whoever he is.

ok, so who exactly rescued them, if penny's ship, or plane, or whatever didnt' come for them.

and yeah who is niomi....and..ok, was that juliette at teh end, pregs.....and if so, then why does jack want an affair with kate...and where are the others...they were on the plane with him...

and also another question..since jin got pregs on the island....does that mean she'll loose the baby when she gets off.....

those are my questions..at least for now.

why did Charlie have to die?  Seriously - the porthole was tiny and the entire underwater lab was huge - there was plenty of air tanks... he would have simply had to walk over to them and put one on - I'd think he'd have (realistically) and hour before the entire lab submerged.. not that he couldn't have swam to the surface (we know you can swim down - everyone has already done it)

His death was sooo perplexing to me because it was just totally avoidable (not like the other times were he wouldn't have had a moment to save himself had Desmond not been there to change things)

Perplexing!!!

And why exactly was Penny the person doing the transmitting?

Funny to see Walt on the island.. sans Michael.  I guess "Jacob" can appear as whomever he wants - right?

And here is a kicker... Ben did not have Said, Jin or the Dentist (I've forgotten his name) killed - he was bluffing.... okay what if Ben is not a bad guy and we've been lead to believe he is?  What if he turns out to be the good guy and Naomi is part of the bad guys?  (that would be a real LOST twist)

And Jack should NOT grow a beard (yikes).

Yes to everything you've said. :-)

LOST will be on for three more seasons (concluding at end of third season).. so they will keep us in suspense for quite a while longer.

We don't know if Lock ended up getting taken off the Island or not...  And do we know FOR SURE that Charley died? Or could it just  have appeared that  he would?  We never really know for sure with Lost.

I had the distinct impression that the last 3 (or so) episodes of Lost were written MUCH BETTER than earlier in the season. Reminded me more of the first season. This season I thought things were not nearly as well done...until the end.  Wonder if they got new writers, or if suddenly got better ideas?

I gather the "flash backs" are now flash FORWARDS... And I wonder who's funeral Jack read about on that obit from the newspaper on the plane?  Obviously it was some one who was with him the island (or that's what I ASSUME at any rate).

To me that suggested that the next "theme" will be to make true what Ben had said (warned..prophesized) on the island...that to get OFF the island was not good.... That it was not how things were meant to be, and it would bring them ALL down.

I kind of projected from that...and by Jack's reaction to the Obit, that it is /has/will become a pattern that one by one, the characters will each undergo some catastrophe... They will all slowly be killed off.  Jack must realize this (or sense the wisdom that was in Ben's warning NOT to attrack others to 'rescue" them --- and hence his deep despondency (and doing drugs/drinking to dull the pain of his realizations).  Also explains his DEEP desire to RETURN TO THE ISLAND...where he now sees there was safety, of sorts.

And if they got off the island, you  have to  wonder why JACK is not married to Kate....

I might also hazzard a guess....that if my previous thories are correct, then Jin and partner WILL lose their baby...since it was concieved on the Island.  Maybe that's just one more piece to the puzzle that Jack is putting together that bad things are now befalling all of them... (Again, PURE CONJECTURE on my part.)

But I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO ANNOYED that I have to wait until NEXT SEASON for this to resume. Heck, it's finally gotten GOOD again, and now we all have to undergo withdrawal pains!

YES! YES! YES!   it was GREAT when Hurley came barreling in to the rescue.  I've wondered if maybe he would end up with Charlie's girl friend (IF Charlie is indeed dead).

I wonder if Locke DID get off the island with everyone, if he ended up back in a wheel chair?  Maybe that will be the first clue (to  Jack) that Ben's projection of "disaster" was true afterall.... ?

What do the rest of you think?

i thought that somehow i missed who died..so we dont know who died....eh....

but you're right...it was a great show the last few eppies..and wouldnt' you know it, we can't see it until sept-october..whenever it starts up again...

i agree with everything that you have said.

did you see the retrospective of the producers and writers of what they were saying..they were supposed to fill in holes..but i think they made me more confused then ever.

i would love it, if charlie somehow survived...he was on some talk show..and he hinted aruond that his character was most likely going to die..but it wasn't like a for sure answer...i think he was on jay's show..but not so sure...

it's going to be a very long summer

<HTML>I think that the obit was for Ben or Locke haven't decided for sure and I think that Kate is married to Sawyer.

Other than that I have no idea, but I want to rewatch the whole season so I can see if there were any clues leading up to this finale or if once again I am just totally lost ...

I don't know if they are reairing the episodes for the summer but it sounds like I should try to get into it again and watch the episodes I missed.

Ronda, I definitely recommend watching the episodes you missed. It got much better this year. I know that www.abc.com offered the full episodes during the season. I wonder if you can still watch them there.  I re-watched the whole two-hour finale that way.

Perhaps I'll reconsider "Lost" as well, but I'm still on the fence about it. The first few episodes of season three were just so terribly done (in my opinion) that I lost all interest in the show at the time. However, I did hear that things got better toward the end of the season, so maybe I'll think about tuning in again (via the abc.com Web site).

LOST came back really well... I had a few doubts early on but am loving the show.

Course it's not coming back on for a really long time so I might forget everything.

I can't imagine Jack would go to Ben's funeral - but it could have been anyone, Rose, Bernard, Locke, the other 20 people who's names we don't know) having the empty funeral... Of course if they are not meant the leave the island I have no idea where they show is going to go (or whether it was worth Charlie letting himself die to rescue Clair if they are not really leaving)
