Don't know if this was posted already or not, but I read this on the CBS message boards:

 

MAURA WEST (Carly) has announced that she will not be renewing her contract when it is up in November so the disease Carly has will more than likely result in her death.

But don't think that will result in Jack and Katie tying the knot and living happily ever after.

For the actress who plays Katie's (Terri Colombino) contract is up for reneal soon as well.

As is Jesse Soffer (Will), Jennifer Landon, (Gwen), Grayson McCouch (Dusty), none of which are expected to renew especially Landon, whose isn't up until the begin of 2008.

These are the reasons why so many new cast members have been featured on the show.

The complications are Soffer (Will Munson) contract is up before the end of the year. If he does not renew, then Jennifer Landon will definitely decide to depart when hers is up soon after. His deciding to stay will more than likely depend on whether she is planning to renew or not.

If the soap's Super Couple Gwen & Will are gone from canvas, that will mean the departure of other characters as well: Iris (Terri Garber), Cole and Sofie, a couple whose popularity hasn't exactly taken off.
