Rick is supposed to make the antidote, but he escapes and takes half the town hostage in the hospital and shoots Aaron. He escapes and takes Ali as a hostage. Rick gets away in the end. The actor says he doesn't think viewers have seen the last of him.

ATWT.net:

Emily asks the much younger Casey to marry her today on "As the World Turns," setting off a chain of events that lands her in the hospital.

"Emily hears this squinkling of a girl say, ‘Is that your girlfriend? She's a cougar!'" says Kelley Menighan Hensley, who plays the not-so-blushing bride. "I think that has something to do with it. Emily just gets the urge to have Casey all to herself and take the plunge."

He says yes, and they head for the airport.
"Apparently, you can do this in St. Louis without a waiting period," says Hensley). "So they jump on a plane and go get married."

There's more to this than meets the eye, because Rick Decker has drugged Emily.

"They end up at a hotel, of course, and consummate the marriage many times," says Hensley. "Emily comes out of her stupor after the fact, when he refers to her as ‘Mrs. Casey Hughes.' She's like, ‘What did you just say?' Then she sees the ring on her finger and loses it. She immediately says it has to be annulled."

No way, says the groom.

"He had all of his faculties when he agreed to marry her, but it's like she had a blackout. The fact that she's saying ‘I was not in my right mind when I made this decision' is hurtful to him. He doesn't understand it. They have a very long, silent flight back." Once home, "she struggles with the fact that, yes, she does love him. But does she want to be married to him, or anybody else for that matter? No."

While Emily struggles with her marriage next week, Casey's mom, Margo, gets wind of it and heads over to blast her. But she finds Emily collapsed on the floor and has to rush her to Memorial, leading to a Rick Decker-led hostage situation in the coming weeks.

And then ... "Grayson's coming back!' says Hensley, referring to pal and former co-star Grayson McCouch, who played Emily's love Dusty Donovan.

"I shouldn't say this, because Billy [Magnussen, who plays Casey] is like, ‘Thanks a lot!' but Grayson's my guy. We have such unfinished business on this show."

He'll return Sept. 24.

As the World Turns Sneak Peeks Week of August 11, 2008
What she feared actually occurs this week when Margo’s worst nightmare comes true. Will she handle it composed, or freaked? Speaking of being freaked, Alison has a near-death experience. Does she respond to treatment and come out of it a better person? Or are her days numbered?

While on the other side of town it appears that Lily’s advances to Mike have paid off. This week they will take their relationship to the next level. But is Mike on the same page as Lily where their dalliance is concerned, or is the entire circumstance merely a charade on his part?

Speaking of couples and romance, Emily and Casey make a decision about their marriage. What will they decide? More importantly, will they choose wisely?

The week winds down on a surprising note for Carly. Imagine how shocked she is when she learns that Neal is back in town. What do you suppose will be her first move? Find out when you tune in to As the World Turns this week.

SOW
Shake-Up At World Turns
Jon Prescott
, who joined ATWT in April as the third actor to play Mike Kasnoff, is out. "I have been privileged to be a part of ATWT," said the actor on his web site. Look for Prescott to last air in October. Meanwhile, Steve and Betsy's little girl comes home on Aug.15, with newcomer Deidre Skiles stepping into the role of Dani Andropoulos. As previously reported, two other familiar faces are also back: Anthony Hererra's James Stenbeck reappears on Aug. 27, and Grayson McCouch (Dusty) is back on Sept.24. Elsewhere, Michael E. Rodgers (Neal) is back as Carly's admirer on Aug. 13 and 14. And Zach Conroy joins the show on Aug. 15 as Leo, an intern enlisted by Katie and Brad to woo Liberty.

A Closer Look: Rick
Rick is revealed as the person behind Oakdale's rash of poisonings this week, and he goes on a rampage. John James dishes Dr. Death's dastardly deeds.

Weekly: Why did Rick poison everybody?
James...Rick came back and he wanted people to accept that he had changed. He said, "I'm a different man; I'm doing this for the state now." But everybody was incredibly rude to him. That angered Rick.

Weekly: So he ends up in the hospital making an antidote, but escapes. What are those scenes like?
James...Rick is handcuffed, and has a 6'8" bodyguard. I had to open a vial, fill the syringe, inject it into the bodyguard's neck, lay him down, and pick his pocket -- all with my hands cuffed -- then unlock the handcuffs and drag him. Then Susan walks in. That was one of the toughest scenes I had to do, because it was difficult from a mechanical point of view.

Weekly: Then he tries to kiss Susan and injects her too.
James...I enjoy working with Marie (Masters), She's great. Rick is so funny, odd and brilliant. It's a lot of fun for me, and I think that translates on camera.

Weekly: One thing leads to another, and Rick ends up holding everybody hostage.
James...It's pretty intense. I thought maybe it was too intense, but Chris (Goutman, EP) said, 'No, that's good. That's very good." Everybody's in one hospital room, they're all on the floor, the bed, etc. Margo and Rick have a standoff.

Weekly: Then Aaron sneaks into the hospital, trying to play hero.
James...And Rick shoots him! So you have Aaron and Alison on the floor, Meg's on the floor, Tom's having a heart attack, Casey and Emily are in the bed, Paul and Chris are outside, and Margo has a gun on Rick. It's a handful.

Weekly: Especially when he grabs Alison at gunpoint and tries to make his exit via helicopter.
James...He almost gets away with it. They did have a heliport at the hospital (where we filmed), but it wasn't available and we needed special clearance, so we landed the helicopter in the parking lot (instead of on the roof). But there's still a great threat there to Alison. The most fun I had was on location, running through the abandoned hospital hallways with Alison. It looked great. It looked real, like something you'd see on the news. It's going to be fun to watch. I hope that the viewers enjoy Rick as much as I enjoy playing him.

Weekly: Do we know what happens to Rick?
James...No. It's left open. The way I thought about it is this: You know how in the movies, in the fourth act they finally kill the monster and everybody breathes a sigh of relief? Then he suddenly wakes up again and the movie goes on for 10 more minutes? Like in Alien? That's a possibility.

Weekly: Fans are already theorizing that Rick is in cahoots with another returning villain, James Stenbeck. Or that they may have a showdown coming up.
James...All I can tell you is that I don't think this is the end of Rick.

oh boy, oh boy, things are heating up on ATWT, can't wait to see the hostage stand-off scenes, Rick Decker is one crazy nutt. I absoutely can't wait for James Stenbeck to come back, that is my boy!!! I've always loved to hate him since the 80s!!. Awe man and Dusty, YES!! I agree with Mrs. Hensley that her character Emily and Dusty have lots of unfinished business, i actually liked them together so, i hope that will be pursued again. Finally, ATWT seems to be picking up, i hope it continues.

I just cannot figure out how they're going resurrect Dusty from the dead...at least if they left the storyline open for a comeback it would be feasible...but he was laying there stone cold dead as a doornail, lol....

That's easy.  Remember when Dr. Decker was able to stop his heart in a storyline back a while ago?  Well, I imagine that Dusty had the same medication.  Of course, this is all suppositiion on my part.  But it makes sense to me!!  LOL
