Last night when I realized Cooper was far too quiet (a quiet Amazon is an Amazon where he doesn't belong) I turned around to find that he'd snuck off his cage onto the oversized chair that sits beside his cage and was at the far end.  I went over to pick him up, and was teasingly shaking my finger and saying "You get back where  you belong, or I'll put you there". He ran to the end farthest away from me (closest to his cage), sat there and told me "YOU come over HERE!"  What a nut.

Too funny, GB! It amazes me what a sense of humour some of these guys have.

My alex used to get off her cage and sneak behind the curtain on the window.  If I did not look for her within a few minutes, she would giggle to make me look for her.  Well she chewed about 6 inches of the window track including the rope that made the window go up and down.  It was a 100 yr old house, old wood windows.  Needless to say when I discovered she had been working on the woodwork after several tricks like this, I moved her cage a foot away from the window, so she could not reach the curtin.
Her other trick, was when I let her wings grow out to see how she would be if allowed to fly around the room.  Well she loved sitting up on top of the ceiling fan, which was not running.  But would come down when called.  Well one day something fell down from the fan and it was the nut for the bolts holding the blade.  I checked and she had removed 2 of 3 nuts from each blade in her hangouts on the fan.  She has taken apart the playground on top of her cage so many times I have lost count.
I have kept her wings clipped since then.  Couldn't trust her to have free flight around the house.  The new house, well it is 100 yrs old too, but new to us, the birds have their own room to be on play gyms and cages.  Take care.
Linda

LOL!  Tommy's speciality is a nice round hole with tuffs of stuffing sticking out for effect!  We've now made a game out of this situation ...  Momma pokes the stuffing back in......Tommy screams NO, runs over and pulls it back out!  I don't like this game.
