I will give you a word each day, and you should give the definition and make up an appropriate sentence using the word. The idea is that you do a search or look the word up in a dictionary if you don't know it's meaning. Have fun! Abby Today's word of the day is inchoate. |

Salient: –adjective 1. | prominent or conspicuous: salient traits. | 2. | projecting or pointing outward: a salient angle. | 3. | leaping or jumping: a salient animal. | 4. | Heraldry. (of a beast) represented as leaping: a lion salient. | –noun 5. | a salient angle or part, as the central outward-projecting angle of a bastion or an outward projection in a battle line. | 6. | Physical Geography. a landform that extends out beyond its surroundings, as a spur projecting from the side of a mountain | I've heard of salient traits, but until I looked it up this morning, I wasn't sure what they were. |

Of course when I first saw the word I thought a a nasty saying my brother and his buddy's thougt was so funny when they were just turning into teenagers. My dad kept washing their mouths with soap everytime he heard them saying it...which probably made them say it all the more: "Flock you and the horse you rode in on" Floccuant-hehorse you rodeinon. Sorry, couldn't help but share it. The devil made me do it |
