I remember this idea but that tote is the best looking one I have seen. Looks like the handle/perch is padded. I have several of the older larger style but the handle wouldn't be very comfy as a bird perch. Maybe wrap it in Vet wrap. Annie |

I love this idea for my smaller birds. Savannah and Holly would probably leave town with it.lol. I need to shop tomorrow and I will look for these. Thanks. |

Did y'all have to "scratch" the perch where it wasn't so slick? I might try that idea although with mine they'll probably eat it, poop on their toys and the Too's would certainly fly off carrying their perch with them.... Too2 |

I've been thinking how to make this more stable and a bit heavier so none of the birds can tip it. Im going to make a small wooden base for it and that should allow any of the birds I have to sit on it. Assuming of course that Beau would share! |

Nice clean river rocks would make it heavy enough and they wouldn't get hurt unless they began to chunk 'em at one another. I thought about wrapping a brick in newspaper. It would probably work for mine because they don't fiddle much with that kind of stuff. Annie |

Oh good grief a brick!! ... let's see? They've tried to eat their way out through the window sill woodwork, chewed drapes and screens...thrown the crock at the window.... but so far flinging a brick through a window hasn't been attempted......Too2 |

I have just got to go to Too's house and have a look around. I wonder if she has anything left that is whole and not holey. Chunking bricks? They must lift weights. Those birds remind me of the friend whose birds disappeared from their built-in cage one day. They had chewed thru the ceiling and were in the attic. She wasn't even worried about them. They came back down several hours later. Annie |

Yikes, Annie!!! That would have scared me silly! I would have been afraid the little devils would chew up some wiring or something up in the attic, and electrocute themselves! Or eat insulation, and get glass in their tummies! Abby |

That escape reminds me of General who ate his way out a wooden doorway.. I started to count heads.. this was when I had all the birds....... and I came up one short. I heard this Too call and a proud show off call saying "see me!"..... and there he was on the top of the roof doing the Too dance, crest up, hop to the left, hop back again, spread the wings and strut......my calling him made all the others scream, especially Oscar, who screamed the loudest thinking finally he had a competition going, knowing he'd win that event...... Remember General is the litttle guy that is almost blind..... I tried to talk him down and realized that would be a mistake as he can hear my voice but can't see me and one slip!! and he'd be gone...... so there I was getting the ladder and up on the roof to the rescue....... This is me who can't stand on a chair without feeling faint and wobbly....... I got him though and he was ever so pleased with himself............... Too2 |

You tell the funniest stories. I would have had a heart attack finding a bird on the roof. Especially General. Abby, I suggested both of those horrors to that lady but she was still not worried about them. Whole different type of person than most of us. Kind of nutty, actually. Annie |

Well I tried 2 Dollar stores and Wal Mart. No luck. There aren't any more places to shop in our little town. I need to go into Corpus anyway some day this week. I'll have to try there. I WANT one of these. |
