It's been out of order for several days. Screams in my ear when I try to use it. Screams in the ear of anyone who tries to call me, too.
Phone man finally came to fix it this afternoon and asked me if we had a lightening strike when the storm came thru a few days ago. I told him only if it happened at night while I was snoozing. He showed me a little tubular brass part that had been struck by lightening. Scary. The junction box is attached to the house just outside the birdroom.
He said a man's phone lines got hit and the strike hit in the back of the house, crawled under his house and exploded out the flower bed in front of the house.  Made a real mess.
Annie

Annie, that really does sounds scary to have lightning do that.  I'm glad you have your phone line fixed again.  Kathy

Kathy is so right ... very scary, Annie! I'm sure glad that your phone was the only thing struck by lightning. It could very well have hit your house and started a fire.

It amazes me that the strike the phone man was telling you about that went under the house, didn't start a fire on its way through!

It will sure be a relief for you to have a quiet phone!

Abby

Phone guy was here this morning!! Yes, it is Sunday.... double time... just glad I'm not paying it. The jack from the phone to the cable box has been giving grief since our lines were hit by lightning at the end of June...
I was at the end of my rope, and DIDN'T tie a knot in it.... although I did appologise to the customer service reps that heard from me 4 times this week.... BEFORE I went off on them.
The service guy called this morning to make sure I was home.... after church... (make sure I was still feeling the Lord???  ) and came out to get everything up and on line again....

If I have the phone plugged into the corner by the kitchen you can bet every lightning storm takes it out... No idea why! It just happens so if there is a storm like today I have no phone as it's sitting on the table waiting for the storm to pass...
It could be lightning in Mobile and still get me!!!!
