Hey just checking in.  My Cami is doing great.  My husband died July 25 at home and it has been difficult for me and all our animals.  They really don't know what is going on, and we had to move.  Cami is adapting fairly well.  Hope everyone is well, I figured I'd start hte September Whistle since no one else had.  Peace, Nutty.

I have an 'Active X Control' problem and I rarely can put new pictures into my albums.  Some times I need to email my pics to Abby and ask her to post my pix in my albums for me.  di

I made the birds a bunch of toys......... can't post pics though....... and they all started with wiffle balls........... finally I ran out of " toy parts" and I had loads of the large balls left over........
One ball popped open and so I decided to keep both parts, fill the inside with shredded paper and put them together again using the  leather thong as ties...... that was a great success as they love them and it takes forever for them to take out the shredded paper ( it sticks out the sides not through the holes.... (does that make sense?)

this is the site I copied and got my ideas from while the toy parts lasted........... Too2

BTW I used the Paulie rope and the Supreme cotton rope which does come apart and is supposed to be safe where no little toes etc can get caught in the threads.
Magnolia will chew on it .... she chews on threads and it bothers me just incase she is digesting any of the threads but with the pull away cotton rope it seems safer than the heavier used on boings etc......
I've heard horror stories anout ingesting rope threads. Hope the Supreme is safer or safer at least. Anyone heard anything negative about the Supreme?

Hey Tooo! It's good to see you posting My suggestion since you can't get pics up for now is to post them to your webshots site and leave us the address so we can see the pics!.

Nutty I am so sorry about your loss, which is something I can relate to. I lost my husband to cancer in 2001. and was devastated. All I can tell you is the pain will start to dull some over time. Please find time during the day to do thingd that are good for you. God Bless. Nan

Not bird related but an "Oh Gosh" for me.
A couple months ago I was appointed to the position of Vice President of our Care Home Association and I've enjoyed doing lots of different behind the scenes work, most of it writing letter to State Senators about pending legislation that affects smaller elder care homes.

I found out last night that the President can not make it to our general meeting today, due to a family emergency, I need to chair the meeting.  Public speaking doesn't bother me, but I haven't even seen the agenda, so I'm really not prepared, and I have to EAT LUNCH with today's speaker....in the front of the room FACING THE AUDIENCE...OH NO!!! And I can't skip eating as I'll get low blood sugar and faint.  Yes I have good manners, but what if I choke on my food, or spill down my front, or have a coughing fit, or, or, or,or.......dispairing di

Went to Little Rock last Sunday.  Had CT scan, blood work, and x-ray last Monday.  Surgery on Tuesday to remove the tongue cancer, again.  Released from the hospital on Wednesday.  Came home yesterday.  It's good to be home!

Oh, gosh, I hope this is it for that surgery!  I'm sure you must not be feeling up to snuff right now.  Praying and sending healing thoughts your way.  di

Birdlady, you are in my prayers. I bet that's a bad feeling to have your tongue not working correctly. Is it awfully painful?
Blessings. Please let us know every couple of days how you are getting along.
Annie

Birdlady, I'm praying for your full recovery!

Well, I sure did a dumb thing today! lol

I woke up and looked at the clock ... YIPES ... 7:50, and I'm always at work before 8:00!! I leaped out of bed, showered, fed the birds, got dressed, and was out the door. When I got down to the School Board Office, the gate was still closed and locked, which is really odd, since they are usually opened about 6:30 for the bus drivers. I got out to open it and noticed that there were no cars in the parking lot. I wondered for a minute if I'd lost a week, and today was Thanksgiving Day. Then it dawned on me ... TODAY IS SUNDAY!!! lol

So, I went and had brekkie at my favourite little restaurant, and I'm back home relaxing! lol

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Abby

I think we need to take up a collection and get you a keeper, Abby.   Didn't you do this about a year ago, too?
