"Don't Listen To Them"
"And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me." Mark 10:47
The blind beggar, Bartimaeus, was sitting beside the road when Jesus passed by. Upon hearing that it was Jesus, he began to cry out loudly to Him. Many in the crowd told him to be quiet and hold his peace, but he just cried out even louder to Jesus. The next verse tells us that Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. This account has so much to teach us, but the thing I want to take note of from it this morning is... the whole time the crowd is trying to "shut you up", Jesus is still listening to you.
People will try to hinder you from getting what you need from God. They will try to shut you up through accusations, by trying to convince you that it's not God's will, by telling you that you don't have enough faith, by telling you that you are asking amiss... they will try to silence you any way they can. But while man is doing his thing, God is doing His. God is listening to you. He has His ear attuned to what you are saying to Him. He isn't distracted by what others are saying, He is attentive to you.
Don't listen to what others are saying to you. Don't let them stop you from reaching Jesus and getting your answer. Keep crying out the more loudly. Keep holding on by faith. Keep putting your trust and confidence in the Lord, and receive what you need in spite of what they say. Don't pay attention to them, the only thing that matters is getting Jesus' attention.
Have a great day. Keep crying out to God no matter who tries to tell you to stop.
