WHAT DID JESUS SUFFER?

I was taken back to Jerusalem
When the Romans crucified;
It was a torturous method of death
While a man gasped for his last breath.

I saw Jesus as they struck his face
A crown of thorns was on his head;
His beard was torn from off his face
Had this become the human race?

I saw the Via Dolorosa
Its cobbled streets were stained with blood;
My Savior was coming down that way
A debt of love he was to pay.

Jesus staggered in his pain
The redemption of man he had to gain;
His muscles convulsed with each stripe on his back
His flesh hung in strips from this bloody attack.

A cross was put on Jesus?back
While the crowds howled like an animal pack;
As my Savior staggered along the road
He fell beneath his heavy load.

As he fell, he looked up slowly
Then his piercing eyes met mine;
The depth of love I saw no tongue can tell
He was not only man, but God’s son, as well.

I never felt such love before
It was as if he was my closest friend;
I cried, God in heaven, can’t you help
To put this horror to an end.

They laid him down and on that cross
They nailed the Son of God;
As the spikes ripped through his wounded hands
He was still fulfilling the Father’s plan.

He hung there on that rugged cross
And in his suffering, shame and agony;
He took time to forgive a thief
Whose life had been a travesty.

His eyes searched the heavens
As he listened for that loving voice;
My God, why have you forsaken me?
He had been abandoned - God the Father had no choice.

As the life ebbed from his quivering frame
His mutilated body now encrusted with his precious blood;
Forgive them Father, they don’t understand
This legacy of love I leave for fallen man.

He was suffocating as he gasped one last time
It is finished, he then cried;
It was time for him to depart
He gave up the ghost and then he died.

All the earth shook violently
The winds and lightening raged;
Jesus?life had been ripped away
The price for salvation he did pay.

I would ask you to ponder in your heart
What Jesus did for you;
Are you a child of this king?
Do his praises in your heart ring?

Jesus gave everything he had
To purchase your salvation;
He shed his blood and gave his life
For this special invitation.

Will you ask Jesus, with all your heart
To be your Lord and Savior?
He’ll completely wash away your sin
You’ll never be the same again!

````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
I had just heard a sermon on the crucifixion. When I
went home, I asked the Lord to show me what really
happened to Jesus. As I was writing, I saw, in my
spirit, these events take place. I never saw Jesus?BR>face clearly, except for his beautiful, compassionate eyes.
It was like watching a movie. I couldn’t read this
writing without weeping for some time. I don’t
believe any of us really understand what Jesus
suffered. I saw each thing they did to him as I wrote
about it. It was as though I had regressed back in time.
