1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup butter
4 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
8 oz maraschino cherries

Heat oven to 325. Thoroughly blend cream cheese, butter, sugar & vanilla.  Add eggs one at a time mixing well after each addition.  Gradually add 2 cups flour with baking powder.  Combine remaining flour with drained cherries and 1/2 cup nuts and  fold into batter.  Bake in greased 10" bundt or tube pan.  Bake 1 hour and 20 minutes.  Cool 5 minutes and remove from pan.

You can make a glaze and drizzle over top and place cherries on top.  To make it more colorful you can use both red and green cherries.

I also use bread pans and the mini foil bread pans to give as gifts

I saved this recipe for Cream Cheese Fruit Cake too.  I love cream cheese and I love Fruit Cake so this sounds good to me.  Thanks, Shirley.  Now I just need to get off the computer long enough to make it.
