Thankyou Monee! We 've actually both been sick for over two weeks. Ron is still taking antibiotics for a chest infection. I am still fighting off aches/pains headache etc. and very weak. We got a date for his 'Oral Surgery', this morning. Feb2/09. He will be going into hospital a few days ahead. They have to take him off two blood thinners and put him on Heparin and then we will see 'what' after....So we have to get over this nonsense quickly!!!! I hope nobody else in the group is dealing with this..... Take care, |

Hi There: Ron's cardiologist is now admitting him to hospital Wed.28th to prepare for the oral surgery on Feb 2nd. They have told us once again how high-risk it is, but he has no choice. Cannot risk infection. So he is in the good Lord's hands...Thankyou, for your prayers...............Maggie (For the month of December we had to wear purple hats as it was our birthday month) This is myself and my friend Elsie.... |

Hi Maggie, What a wonderful pic of you and your friend, Elsie. Thanks for sharing it. You both look so nice. I'm still puzzled by the purple hats though when it's the Red Hat Society. Oh well, purple hats are pretty. I will be praying for you and Ron as he goes into the hospital on Wednesday to prepare for oral surgery on Monday, Feb. 2. I know you both must be so worried. May I suggest that you memorize Isaiah 41: 10. It has carried me through some rough times. Love and Prayers, |

It's in a poem by Erma Brombeck, Monette, called "If I Had My Life To Live Over". The end of it goes:
Age 3: She looks at herself and sees a Queen.
Age 8: She looks at herself and sees Cinderella.
Age 15: She looks at herself and sees an Ugly Sister (Mum I can't go to school looking like this!)
Age 20: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly"- but decides she's going out anyway.
Age 30: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly" - but decides she doesn't have time to fix it, so she's going out anyway.
Age 40: She looks at herself and sees "clean" and goes out anyway.
Age 50: She looks at herself and sees "I am" and goes wherever she wants to go.
Age 60: She looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can't even see themselves in the mirror anymore. Goes out and conquers the world.
Age 70: She looks at herself &sees wisdom, laughter and ability, goes out and enjoys life.
Age 80: Doesn't bother to look Just puts on a purple hat and goes out to have fun with the world.

Hi Marilyn, I remember that poem now. Thank you for sharing it. Erma Bombeck was quite a lady, wasn't she? As for me, I looked in the mirror and it cracked! |
