I have a sweet figurine of "Santa Kneeling" before Baby Jesus which I purchased several years ago. I love it. Remember, even Santa kneels to Jesus. As the scripture says, "Every knee shall bow before Him". It makes the point that Santa isn't the important one but Jesus IS the reason for the season.
As for using "Xmas" instead of Christmas, I have used it at times (like shorthand) for many years. To me, the X represents the Cross for Christ and "mas" comes from Mass, for Christ's sacrifice for our salvation.
Santa brings gifts of joy as God gave us the gift of joy in Christ. He gladdens the hearts of children as Christ has gladdened the hearts of God's children in Him.
That's the way I see it. Thanks for asking, Monette. I hope this helps you.
May you have a Merry CHRISTmas and a Happy, Healthy, Safe, and Prosperous New Year!
