~A Poem Inspired by The 23 Psalm~
The Lord is my shepherd.
Nothing have I to fear.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures,
For I will have comfort and rest without tears.
He leadeth me beside still waters,
And there I will not thirst for love.
Then there He will restoreth my soul,
By the Holy Spirit on the wings of a dove.
He leadeth me in His righteousness,
And for His namesake I shall witness.
Yea though I walk through the valley,
In the valley of death I will show fitness.
Always Thou art with me
Oh, what a joy to behold.
Thy rod and thy staff will protect me,
And they truth in me will unfold.
Thou preparest a table before me,
And I shall partake of thy bountiful blessing.
Then in the presence of mine enemies,
I’ll give thanks unto you for your love I’m possessing.
Thou anointest my head with oil.
Oh, such a blessing now my Savior.
My cup runneth over,
For the cup you gave, my soul doth savor.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,
For you are the rock of salvation.
All the days of my life,
You will be with me in my meditation
I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever,
That you have gone before to prepare for me.
Then there I shall stand in this holy place.
With the Father, Son and Holy Spirit just for Thee.
