Day 9
Purpose Driven Life
What Makes God Smile
May the Lord smile on you
Numbers 6:35 (NLT)
Smile on me you servant teacher me the right way to live
Psalm 119 : 135 ( MSG)
the smile of God is the goal of your life
5 acts of worships
*--*Love HIM Supremely
Noah loved God - even when no one else did -
he (Noah ) - is the reason man kind was spared
God wants to fellowship with us
"I don't want your sacrifice-I want your love-
I don't want your offerings I want your to know me"
Hosea 6:6
Can you sense HIS PASSION in that Verse???
Greatest commandment - love your Lord your God
*--* when we trust HIM completely
Noah pleased God
Secondly cause he trusted HIM
by faith Noah built the ark
because
God Asked him to build the ark
there could have been 3 problems that would
have caused Noah to doubt?
1. Never seen rain
2. hundreds of miles from ocean
3. problem round up al the animals
but Noah did not complain or make excuses he trusted God
Trusting God - means having Faith
That HE knows best for you
took Noah 120 years to build the ark - wow
- imagine children embarrassed
- yet Noah trusted
In what area of your life do you need to Trust God completely
trusting is an act of worshiping
without faith it is impossible to please God
Hebrews 11:6
*--* when we obey HIM wholeheartedly
notice Noah obeyed completely and exactly that is wholeheartedly
God asks without reservation or hesitations you don't procrastinate
and say "I'll pray about it " you do it with out delay every parent
knows that delayed obedience is really disobedience.
God does not owe explanation or reason for everything
HE ask you to do - understanding can wait but obedience can't
often we try to offer God partial obedience, we want to pick and
choose the commands we obey
example go to church not tithe
example read the bible not forgive
wholehearted obedience is done joyfully with enthusiasm
Gods word is clear you can not NOT earn your salvation it comes
only by grace, not by your efforts but as a child of God you
can bring pleasure to your Father through obedience.
act of obedience is worship
*--* when we praise and thank HIM continually
God loves to be thanked and praised
Just as we do
Since Jesus sacrifice we don't offer animals sacrifices
but sacrifices of praise
amazing things happen when we offer praise up to GOD
we get Joy in return
*--* When we use our abilities
God gave Noah simple instruction
"Be fruitful and multiply increase in numbers and fill the earth
everything that lives and moves will be found for you just as
I gave you the green plans I now give you everything "
Genesis 9: 1, 3
God watches every detail of our life including
working
playing
resting
eating
He doesn't miss a single move you make
"the steps of the godly are directed by the Lord He
delights in every detail of their lives
Every human activity except sin can be done for God's purpose
God especially likes watching you use the
talents and abilities he has given you
and he intentionally gifted us differently for HIS enjoyment
you don't bring glory or pleasure to God by hiding your
abilities or trying to be someone else
Wow.. mentioned Chariots of Fire
Eric Liddell
"I believe God made me fore a purpose but he also
made me fast and when I run I feel Gods pleasure"
amen and amen
God gains pleasure in watching you enjoy HIs creation
Eyes - to enjoy beauty
Ears - to enjoy sound
Nose - to enjoy smell
taste buds - to enjoy taste
nerves under the skin - to enjoy touch
every act of enjoyment is an act of worship
God enjoys even watching you sleep
Day 9
Thinking about my Purpose
Point to ponder:
God smiles when I trust HIM
Verse to Remember :
"the Lord is pleased with those
who worship him and trust HIS love "
Psalm 147:11
Question to Consider:
Since God knows what is best
in what areas of my life do I need to trust him more?

Day 9..What Makes God Smile
The smile of God is the goal of your life.
Since pleasing God is the first purpose of your life, your most important task is to discover how to do that. The Bible says, "Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it." Today, we'll learn the five acts of worship that make God smile. God smiles when we love him supremely. God smiles when we trust him completely. God smiles when we obey him wholeheartedly. God smiles when we praise and thank him continually. And God smiles when we use our abilities.
You may feel that the only time God is pleased with you is when you're doing "spiritual" activities--like reading the Bible, attending church, praying, or sharing your faith. And you may think God is unconcerned about the other parts of your life. Actually, God enjoys watching every detail of your life, whether you are working, playing, resting, or eating. He doesn't miss a single move you make. The Bible tells us, "The steps of the godly are directed by the LORD. He delights in every detail of their lives." Every human activity, except sin, can be done for God's pleasure if you do it with the attitude of praise.
Will you make pleasing God the goal of your life? There is nothing that God won't do for the person totally absorbed with this goal.
