Day 9
Purpose Driven Life
What Makes God Smile
May the Lord smile on you
Numbers 6:35 (NLT)

Smile on me you servant teacher me the right way to live
Psalm 119 : 135 ( MSG)

the smile of God is the goal of your life

5 acts of worships

*--*Love HIM Supremely

Noah loved God - even when no one else did -
he (Noah ) - is the reason man kind was spared

God wants to fellowship with us
"I don't want your sacrifice-I want your love-
I don't want your offerings I want your to know me"
Hosea 6:6

Can you sense HIS PASSION in that Verse???

Greatest commandment - love your Lord your God

*--* when we trust HIM completely

Noah pleased God
Secondly cause he trusted HIM

by faith Noah built the ark

because

God Asked him to build the ark

there could have been 3 problems that would
have caused Noah to doubt?

1. Never seen rain
2. hundreds of miles from ocean
3. problem round up al the animals

but Noah did not complain or make excuses he trusted God

Trusting God - means having Faith

That HE knows best for you

took Noah 120 years to build the ark - wow
- imagine children embarrassed
- yet Noah trusted

In what area of your life do you need to Trust God completely
trusting is an act of worshiping

without faith it is impossible to please God
Hebrews 11:6

*--* when we obey HIM wholeheartedly

notice Noah obeyed completely and exactly that is wholeheartedly

God asks without reservation or hesitations you don't procrastinate
and say "I'll pray about it " you do it with out delay every parent
knows that delayed obedience is really disobedience.

God does not owe explanation or reason for everything
HE ask you to do - understanding can wait but obedience can't

often we try to offer God partial obedience, we want to pick and
choose the commands we obey

example go to church not tithe

example read the bible not forgive

wholehearted obedience is done joyfully with enthusiasm

Gods word is clear you can not NOT earn your salvation it comes
only by grace, not by your efforts but as a child of God you
can bring pleasure to your Father through obedience.

act of obedience is worship

*--* when we praise and thank HIM continually

God loves to be thanked and praised
Just as we do

Since Jesus sacrifice we don't offer animals sacrifices
but sacrifices of praise

amazing things happen when we offer praise up to GOD
we get Joy in return

*--* When we use our abilities
God gave Noah simple instruction

"Be fruitful and multiply increase in numbers and fill the earth
everything that lives and moves will be found for you  just as
I gave you the green plans I now give you everything "
Genesis 9: 1, 3

God watches every detail of our life including
working
playing
resting
eating

He doesn't miss a single move you make

"the steps of the godly are directed by the Lord He
delights in every detail of their lives

Every human activity except sin can be done for God's purpose

God especially likes watching you use the
talents and abilities he has given you

and he intentionally gifted us differently for HIS enjoyment

you don't bring glory or pleasure to God by hiding your
abilities or trying to be someone else

Wow.. mentioned Chariots of Fire
Eric Liddell
"I believe God made me fore a purpose but he also
made me fast and when I run I feel Gods pleasure"
amen and amen

God gains pleasure in watching you enjoy HIs creation

Eyes - to enjoy beauty
Ears - to enjoy sound
Nose - to enjoy smell
taste buds - to enjoy taste
nerves under the skin - to enjoy touch

every act of enjoyment is an act of worship

God enjoys even watching you sleep

Day 9
Thinking about my Purpose
Point to ponder:
God smiles when I trust HIM
Verse to Remember :
"the Lord is pleased with those
who worship him and trust  HIS love "
Psalm 147:11
Question to Consider:
Since God knows what is best
in what areas of my life do I need to trust him more?

________________________________

Day 9..What Makes God Smile

The smile of God is the goal of your life.

Since pleasing God is the first purpose of your life, your most important task is to discover how to do that. The Bible says, "Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it." Today, we'll learn the five acts of worship that make God smile. God smiles when we love him supremely. God smiles when we trust him completely. God smiles when we obey him wholeheartedly. God smiles when we praise and thank him continually. And God smiles when we use our abilities.

You may feel that the only time God is pleased with you is when you're doing "spiritual" activities--like reading the Bible, attending church, praying, or sharing your faith. And you may think God is unconcerned about the other parts of your life. Actually, God enjoys watching every detail of your life, whether you are working, playing, resting, or eating. He doesn't miss a single move you make. The Bible tells us, "The steps of the godly are directed by the LORD. He delights in every detail of their lives." Every human activity, except sin, can be done for God's pleasure if you do it with the attitude of praise.

Will you make pleasing God the goal of your life? There is nothing that God won't do for the person totally absorbed with this goal.

day 9 My personal write up on this
what makes God smile
the fat that Rick starts with Noah well okay Joseph is oneof my favorite charctors  but Noah is a story I love guess cause as I was a little girl remember the time  of going to this one church LOL it was interesting was not like the ones we went to... most know my background and this one was very different ... did not talk .. about the things we talked about.... I learned about Noah - Joseph - and the women at the well three things that always stoon out as I grew up  because the way it was taugh - cours we did not go back to that church ever  knew never knew why LOL I know now.. but did not know then... Noah - everthing was 2 x 2  and clean  - and male and female - and Joseph  - coat of many colors - was not like others in family  but loved by God - Lady at well was with many men but forgiven by not having stones thrown at her - and I got to thinking about how those three made such an impact on my wee little head way back then even now I am seeing how excited those stories meant to me... and they still do...

okay now Noah had to trust God enough to build this ark and he had to lvoe HIM enough to endure it for 120 years wow

HE showed Noah that HE trusted him (Noah)

When I read God wants to fellowship with us.. i was wow.. I knew somewhere i knew but it was all coming clear ...

that part about going to obey but "i'll pray about it is in essence disobedience ( that floored me )

Loved the idea God watches over us on every detail including when I am sleeping ...

and when rick mentiong chariots of fire... loved that movie..
watched it when I was growing up I know now when you see me I am large.... but when I was in track I use to think about how he ran and it is true running is freeing... but feeling enjoyment...

rembering last year way before my heartattack... lol I was on the treadmil at my moms and all of a sudden just out of the blue ... I started to run sorta jog.. had not done that in so long did it for about 15 minuts my mom was sitting in at her computer... could hear her chuckle...

What she was chucking at was 2 things wow okay some have seen my photo I am over 300 and her house is over 40 years old LOL so now you know one reason she prayed floor did not give way

secone - she was plese cause I use to job 5 miles a day up till 1995 ... when I broke my back ... since then... I stopped and she had always hopped I would pick it up again... cause one of my long dreams was to do the boston marathon... Now I know that is asking alot of me now... but then I thougt I could do anything LOL...

The fact God enjoys... wathcing us sleep ... thnk I have heard many moms say that .. and when I was a nanny I wathced the childrend - sleep.... - breathe- toss - turn when my step great grand son was born I so love him because he bacame my all I loved to watch him sleep ... I loved to hold him and to have him in my arms... (right not I would give anything for that again ) and I understand why God Enjoys watching us

Question to Consider: since God knows what is best in what areas of my life do I need to trust him most ?

OOOOO YEAH..... need to trust him in all areas am I daft .... do you think.. I don't need to to trust him ??? lol.... who would be crazy not to trust HIM

Father thanks for all the responses in the PDL... and for every heart that is being touched... those that are unable to post... for certain reasons.. and those that are reading.. with us... and following along... but their heart is heavy and they just choose not to post... Father.. what ever reason... we lay our hands on the screen.. now... and ask that you bless everyone that this challenge touches... greater.. for you good...
Father.. you are our pleasure... and thank you for teachin of your word..
amen

DAY 9

WHAT MAKES GOD SMILE?

May the Lord smile on you.... Numbers  6:25 (NLT)

Smile on me, your servant; teach me the right way to live.
Psalm 119:135 (Msg)

The smile of God is the goal of your life.  Since pleasing God is the first
purpose of your life, your most important task is to discover how to do that.
Figure out what will please Christ, then do it.  Ephesians 5:10 (Msg)

This is what God wants most from you: a relationship!  It's the most
astounding truth in the universe  - that our Creator wants to fellowship
with us.  God made you to love you, and He longs for you to love Him
back.  He says, "I dont want your sacrifices - I want your love.  I don't
want your offerings - I want you to know Me".  Hosea 6:6  (LB)

Can you sense God's passion for you in this verse?  God deeply loves
you and desires your love in return.  He longs for you to know Him and
spend time with Him.  That is why learning to love God and be loved
by Him should be the greatest objective in your life.  Nothing else comes
close in importance.  Jesus called it the greatest commandment:  "Love
the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all
your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment".  Matthew 22:37-38
(NIV)

You expect Him to keep His promises, help you with problems and do the
impossible when necessary.  He takes pleasure in those who honor Him;
in those who TRUST IN HIS CONSTANT LOVE.  Psalm 147: 11

Without faith it is impossible to please God.  Hebrews 11:6

Understanding can wait, but obedience cant.  Instant obedience will teach
you more about God than a thousand Bible discussions.  In fact you will
never understand some commands till you obey them first.  Obedience unlocks
understanding.

You dont procrastinate and say "I'll pray about it".

Obey Him gladly.  Psalm 100:2 (LB)  We please God by what we do and not
only by what we believe.  James 2:24  God's word is clear that you cant
earn your salvation.  It comes only by grace, not your effort.

God smiles when we praise and thank Him continually.  Few things feel
better than receiving heartfelt praise and appreciation from someone else.
God loves it, too.  He smiles when we express our adoration and
gratitude to Him.

`We praise God for who He is and what He has done.  When we give God
enjoyment, our own hearts are filled with  joy!

Worship works both ways too.  We enjoy what God has done for us,
and when we express that enjoyment to God, it brings Him joy but it
also increases our joy.  The book of Psalms says, "The righteous are glad
and rejoice in His Presence; they are happy and shout for joy".  Psalm 68:3 (TEV)

God smiles when we use our abilities.  God intentionally gifted us differently
for His enjoyment.  He has shaped each person in turn; now He watches
everything we do.  Psalm 33:15 (Msg)

You don't bring glory or pleasure to God by hiding your abilities or trying
to be someone else.  YOU ONLY  BRING HIM ENJOYMENT BY BEING
YOU.  Any time you reject any part of yourself, you are rejecting God's
wisdom and sovereignty in creating you.

God also gains pleasure in watching you enjoy His creation.  He gave you eyes
to enjoy beauty, ears to enjoy sounds, your nose and tastebuds to enjoy smells
and tastes, and the nerves under your skin to enjoy touch.  There is nothing
God won't do for the person totally absorbed in pleasing Him.  When you
are sleeping, God gazes at you with love, because you were His idea.  He
loves you as if you were the only person on earth.

He knows you are incapable of being perfect or sinless.  The Bible says,
"He certainly knows what we are made of.  He bears in mind that we are
dust".  Psalm 103: 14 (GWT)

What God looks at is the attitude of your heart:  Is pleasing Him your
deepest desire?  This was Paul's life goal:  More than anything else, however,
we want to please Him,whether in our home here or there.  2 Corinthians 5:9
(TEV)

The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any
who are wise, who want to please Him.  Psalm 14;2 (LB)

In what areas of my life do I need to trust Him most?  My beliefs, my
salvation, my finances, our health, that He will bring transformations in lives.
God knows what is best.

God bless

Mercy May xoxo
