DAY 13

 WORSHIP THAT PLEASES GOD

Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all
your mind and with all your strength.  Mark 12:30 (NIV)

 God wants ALL of you.
God doesnt want a part of your life.  He asks for ALL your heart, ALL your soul,
ALL your mind, and ALL your strength.  God is not interested in half-hearted
commitment, partial obedience and the leftovers of your time and money.  He desires
your full devotion, not a little bit of your time, or little bits of your life.

I want to be in His Presence continually.  Not give Him little bits of my life.
I want to give Him all of my heart - share with Him all of my feelings,
even my disappointments over prayer requests or how circumstances have
turned out, my disasters, my griefs, my pain, my doubts, my despairing
which should not really get to despair, and seldom does, my depression,
which is not much now since He delivered me, my anger at Him, at life,
at those who have hurt me;  my heart, mind and soul will always be
sincere with God, what is the point otherwise?  He KNOWS your heart
so why pretend, do you think you can fool God?  what a relief too.  With ALL my mind - heart, soul and mind to me are all connected and with emotions
and feelings, intermingled.  One thing about me I am not insincere in my
relationship with God but maybe in some areas sincerely wrong I guess.

Where you worship is not as important as why and how you worship.  How much of yourself do you offer to God when you worship.  The Bible says, "Let us be
grateful and worship God in a way that will please Him".  Hebrews 12:28 (TEV)

 1.  God is pleased when our worship is accurate.  Worship must be based on
the truth of Scripture, not our opinions or our imagination.  To worship in truth
means to worship God as He is revealed in The Bible.

 2.  God is pleased when our worship is authentic.  When Jesus said you must
"worship in spirit" He wasnt referring to the HOly Spirit, but to your spirit.
Made in God's image you are a spirit that resides in a body, and God designed
your spirit to communicate with Him.  Worship is your spirit responding to Gods Spirit.

When Jesus said love God with all your heart and soul He meant that worship
 must be genuine and heartfelt.  It is not just a matter of saying the right words;
you must mean what you say.  Praise to God that you dont mean, that doesnt
come from the heart, is not praise at all!  It is worthless, an insult to God!  When we
worship God looks past our words and sees what is in our hearts.

God hates hypocrisy.  But sincerity alone is not enough; you can be sincerely
wrong.  That is why both spirit and truth are required.  God-pleasing worship
is both deeply emotional and doctrinal.  We use both our hearts and our heads.

Many forms of praise are mentioned in the Bible: among them confessing,
singing, dancing, playing musical instruments, standing, raised hands, shouting,
 kneeling, making a joyful noise, and testifying.  Hebrews 13:15 Psalm 7:17;
Ezra 3:11; Psalms 149:3; 150:3; Nehemiah 8:6.  The best style of worship
is the one that most authentically represents YOUR love for God, based on
the background and personality God gave you.

Gary Thomas noticed that many Christians are unhappy, unsatisfied because
they force themselves to use devotional methods or worship styles that dont
fit the way God uniquely shaped them.  Gary wondered, If God intentionally
made us all different, why should everyone be expected to love God in the
 same way?

Naturalists love God out-of-doors; sensates love God through beautiful worship
services - with sight, smell, taste and touch, not just ears.  Traditionalists draw
close to God through rituals, ceremonies, liturgies, symbols, unchanging structures.
Ascetics prefer to love God in simplicity and solitude.  (I am ascetic).  Activists
love God through battling social injustice, confronting evil, working to make the
world a better place.  Caregivers love God through loving others and meeting
their needs.  (I am a caregiver).  Enthusiasts through celebration.  Contemplatives
through adoration. Intellectuals through studying with their minds.  (I am an intellectual),

 Well it is very late at night, actually the very early hours of the morning;
I need to breathe and probably go to bed so will do Part 2 of this tomorrow.
Know I am falling behind but I will complete it.

 God bless
