Purpose Driven Live

Purpose # 2

you were formed for God's family "I am the vine, and you are the branches" Johne 15:55

Christ makes us one body: connected to each other Romans 12: 5

God is the one who made all things, and all things are for his glory, he wanted to have many children share his glory

Hebrews 2:10

Se how very much our hevenly Father loves us, for he allows us to be called his chilfred, and we really are ! 1 John 3:1

you were formed for God's family,God's faimly and He created you to be apart of it. entire Bible is the story of God building a family who will

love

honor

and

reign

with HIM forever

God identiefies himself in family terms: Father, Son, and Spirit, the trinity

He didn't need a family -- he desired one

When we place our faith in Christ, God becomes our Father, we become His children, other believers become our brothers and sisters, and the

church becomes our spiritural family, the family of God includes all believers in the past, the present, and the future. everyone was created by God but not

everyone is a child of God The only way to get into God's family is by being born again into it. (second birth)

invitation to be part of God's family is universal but there is one condition: faith in Jesus

"you are all Children of God through faith in Christ Jesus" Galatians 3:26

your spiritual family is even more important than your physical family because it will last forever:

Family on earth is temporary

fragile

often broken by divorce

distance

growing old

inevitably ... death

our spiritual family -- our relationship to other believers -- will continue through out eternity it is a much stronger union a more permanent bond than blood relationships

Benefits of being in God's family

moment born in spiritural family you were given birhday gifts

the family name - the family likeness - the family priveleges - the family intimate access - the family inheritance

"since you are HIS child, every thing HE has belongs to you " Galatians 4:7

What inheritance do we get --

live with God forever

1 Thessalonians 5:10, 4:7

we will be completely

changed to be like Christ

1 John 3:2, 2 Corinthians 3:18

we will be freed from all pain,

death, suffering

Revelation 21:4

will be rewarded and reassigned

positioned of service

Mark 9:41, 10:30, 1 Corinthians 3:8,

Hebrews 10:35, Matthew 25:21, 23

will get to share in Christs glory

Romans 8:17, Colossians 3:4, 2

Thessalonians 2:14, 2 Timothy 2:12,

1 Peter 5:1

your eternal inheritance

NO ONE CAN TAKE IT FROM YOU

Baptism: Identifying with God's Family

Healthy families have family pride: members are not ashamed to be recognized a a part of the family sadly I have known many that are not openly proud of their spiritual

Family

why is baptism so important Because it symbolizes God's second purpose for your life.

Baptism is pregnant with meaning -- your baptism declares your

faith

shares Christ burial

shares Christ resurrection

symbolizes your death to your old life

announces your new life in Christ

&

celebration of your inclusion in God's Family

it is a physical picture of our spiritual truth

like a wedding ring, it is a visible reminder of our inward commitment made in your heart

life's greatest privilege

Being made holy by Jesus

"Jesus and the people He makes holy all belong to the same family. that is why He isn't ashamed to call them HIS brother's and sister's"

Hebrews 2:11

thinking about my purpose

Point to ponder:

I was formed for God's family

Verse to Remember:

His unchanging plan has always

been to adopt us into HIS own

family by bringing us to HIMSELF

throught JESUS CHRIST"

Ephesians 1:5

Question to Consider:

How can I start treating other believers like members of my own family?

-----------------------------

40 Day Challenge continues....

Day 15 - Formed For God Family

God wants a family, and he created you to be a part of it.

The entire Bible is the story of God building a family who will love him, honor him, and reign with him forever. It says, His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure. When we place our faith in Christ, God becomes our Father, we become his children, other believers become our brothers and sisters, and the church becomes our spiritual family. The family of God includes all believers in the past, the present, and the future.

Our families on earth are wonderful gifts from God, but they are temporary and fragile, often broken by divorce, distance, growing old, and inevitably, death. On the other hand, our spiritual familyour relationship to other believers will continue throughout eternity.

The Bible says, Jesus and the people he makes holy all belong to the same family. That is why he isn't ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. Let that amazing truth sink in. You are a part of God's family, and because Jesus makes you holy, God is proud of you! Being included in God's family is the highest honor and the greatest privilege you will ever receive. Nothing else comes close. Whenever you feel unimportant, unloved, or insecure, remember to whom you belong.

Day 15 write up

Purpose Driven Live

Purpose # 2

you were formed for God's family "I am the vine, and you are the branches" Johne 15:55

I love this verse... I love the fact that... it says... that we are branches.... that He stretches out .... He .. is such a loving Father.. to do this...

(second birth)

Second Birth... to accept Christ in our Heart... is a second birth... when we were born .. that is the first birth... and wow.. to think about... the second birth.. wow... and that Rick spoke of it like a pregancy.... that when... we... are .... or accept... Christ we are Born... (Adopted.) into the spiritual family... wow.. think about that... what Adam and Eve... (and satan) distroyed when the sin happened.... we got back when Jesus Christ died on the Cross... and we accept HIM in our heart... they say that is all we have to do.. but that is not so... there is sooo much more.. then accepting... HIM... yes... Accepting... HIM in our heart... is what we have to do.... but by showing our faith.... we need to be baptised.. a public act for a private... union.... in other wards... what you did in your heart.. (privately) you publicly show people by getting baptised and showing them...

Healthy families have family pride: members are not ashamed to be recognized a a part of the family sadly I have known many that are not openly proud of their spiritual

Family

why is baptism so important Because it symbolizes God's second purpose for your life.

Baptism is pregnant with meaning -- your baptism declares your

faith

shares Christ burial

shares Christ resurrection

symbolizes your death to your old life

announces your new life in Christ

&

celebration of your inclusion in God's Family

it is a physical picture of our spiritual truth

like a wedding ring, it is a visible reminder of our inward commitment made in your heart

I felt that all that is underlined and was soo important... we are all blessed and we were all created to be in Heaven but not everyone is going to get there.. they have to ask to get in.. they have to accept the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.. they have to examine their hearts... and know ... that .. they will no longer.... live for self.... but LIVE FOR CHRIST.... (acutally die for Christ.. ) cause you are dying to yourself ... in order to gain your life you must give it up .. and I did not understand that.. till I was willing.. till.. give my whole life to HIM .. and know that.. no matter what I do.. no matter where I go.. HE is in charge HE is the one that controls my destiny... and I can do nothing... but... give my all to HIM.....

life's greatest privilege

Being made holy by Jesus

"Jesus and the people He makes holy all belong to the same family. that is why He isn't ashamed to call them HIS brother's and sister's"

Hebrews 2:11

now being made holy... not sure I really understand this and I will not pretend that I do.... I know.. that in Christ we are made whole... and with this scripture... I can't doubt the word.. ... just don't understand it.... so... I will have to search or ask.... and that I will... I guess it has something to do with ... my past ... and knowing what I have done... know there is no way I can be holy.... but.. it says it....

Day 15

thinking about my purpose

Point to ponder:

I was formed for God's family

( ooooo yeah when I asked Jesus Christ in my heart... I came into the family... but I sure had to ask... it is not handed to you on a platter... and it does not... come free... it came with a price.... HIS PRICE HE DIED to set us free.... so for us to have that freedom... HE had to die.... so that is not free.... that is a grief in knowing that... somone... loves me enough to die... cause he did not want to live with out me....

Question to Consider:

How can I start treating other believers like members of my own family?

well I got to thinking about this.. and I got to thinking about how I have really or what I did... I know that I am planning on going to Scotland... and that I will be teaching others... but I also know that I have given my real (yeah) family up.... to an extent.... which is really hard... I had to do the hardest thing... turn away... turn from what I wanted to do.. be there when my mom was going through the hardest thing.... but accepting.... my spiritual family was soooo much easier... then... accepting ... or loving my real family if that makes sense...

but how do I need to treat them.. okay well for one... I know one thing I need to do... answer their emails LOL.... be more like Christ... give to them as I was giving to Christ... I need to do my best ... to show JESUS IS LORD and is LOVE and for LOVE.... gives at all times but does not means.... get runned over.. LOL... I am learning that.... but I do need to learn to answer my emails... but lol.... the lovely dial up and not on my incredimail.. or able to... even have my contacts... I can't tell anyone that I gto their emails.... this is truly a test... and I am learning... that when you are tested.... that is when things are quiet.. not so much .... in your head... not so much in your heart.. not so much around you... but if you will listen.. there is quiet... and oooo I am learning to listen to that quietness.. and learning to be still and know HE is God ... wow....

PURPOSE 2

YOU WERE MADE FOR GOD'S FAMILY

DAY 15

FORMED FOR GOD'S FAMILY

You were formed for God's family.
God wants a family and He created you to be a part of it. This is
God's 2nd purpose for your life, which He planned before you were
born.  the entire Bible is the story of God building a family who will love
Him, honor Him, and reign with Him forever, sharing in His glory.

Because God is love, He treasures relationships.  God has always
existed in loving relationship to Himself, so He has never been lonely.
He didn't need a family - He desired one so He devised a plan to
create us, bring us into His family, and share with us all He has.  This
gives God great pleasure.

We are His children and other believers are our brothers and sisters
and the church our spiritual family.  The family of God includes all
believers in the past, the present and the future.

"When I think of the wisdom and scope of His plan I fall down on my
knees and pray to the Father of all the great family of God - some of them
already in heaven and some down here on earth".  Ephesians 3:14 -15 (LB)

"Since you are His child, everything He has belongs to you".  Galatians 4:7 (NLT)

"My God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in
Christ Jesus".  Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

Here on earth we are given the riches of ... His grace ....kindness...
patience .... glory .... wisdom ... power... and mercy.  Ephesians 1:7;
Romans 2:4, 9:23, 11:33; Ephesians 3:16, 2:4.

But in eternity we will inherit even more.  You are far richer than you realize.

Baptism declares your faith, shares Christ's burial and resurrection, symbolizes
your death to your old life, and announces your new life in Christ.  It is also
a celebration of your inclusion in God's family.

"Jesus and the people He makes holy all belong to the same family.  That is
why He isn't ashamed to call them His brothers and sisters".  Hebrews 2:11
(CEV)

Being included in God's family is the highest honor and the greatest privilege
you will ever receive.  Nothing else comes close.  Whenever you feel unimportant,
unloved, or insecure, remember to whom you belong.

QTC:  How can I start treating other believers like members of my own
family?

I think I already do.  Remember they are as much my family, even in
a sense more important than my blood family, as my own family.

God bless

Mercy May xoxo
