Dear child of God, hast thou forgot
That God thy Father faileth not?
Hast thou forgot His loving care.
The needs supplied, the answered prayer?
In days gone by when trials came
And thou didst call upon His name,
Did He forsake thee then? Oh, no!
And has He changed? Then to Him go!
For whether morning, noon, or night,
Whate'er thy need, whate'er thy plight,
Though heart be faint, though faith be small,
His ear is open to thy call.
And He will answer - though He may
Not work in just thy time or way.
But trust Him fully in each test,
Assured thy Father's way is best.
In sorrow's hour, in time of pain;
In sunshine bright, in drenching rain;
In boom of war, in calm of peace,
His faithfulness shall never cease.
Shall He who knows the sparrow's fall
Neglect to heed thy earnest call?
Hast thou no confidence that He
Will keep His promises to thee?
He hath not failed thee in the past -
Nor will He fail while life shall last.
And when death's vale thou shalt pass through,
He will be there, ever true.
So trust in God, nor faint, nor fret,
Rememb'ring this - and ne'er forget -
That what'er tempest may prevail,
His Word is true; He will not fail!!
