My daughter Bonnie has a very close friend whom we have known a long time. Her name is Anna and she considers Bonnie her sister and Bonnie's kids as her nieces and nephew. Anna is divorced and has 3 grown children, a daughter, Melissa, and 2 sons, Shannon and Daniel. Shannon has a 5 yr. old son, Riley.
Last Saturday morning, March 17, Shannon was driving into town in his truck and had Riley with him. We don't know exactly what happened but Shannon lost control and skidded 150 ft. and rolled several times before he was thrown out and killed. Unfortunately, he was not wearing his seat belt. However, Shannon did have Riley buckled in his car seat so, thankfully, he is fine.
Yesterday (Tuesday) I met Bonnie and Anna at the funeral home for visitation and viewing. It was so very hard for Anna. She held on to Bonnie and of course Bonnie has stayed right with her. I knew that Bonnie had a little silver "Cross in My Pocket" so I suggested that she give that to Anna to hold on to and she did. Guess what Anna did .. she put that cross in Shannon's pocket! 
I gave Anna a small New Testament with Psalms for her to keep with her. It was one I used but she needed it more.
The funeral service for Shannon is this morning, Wed. Mar. 21 at the Catholic church. I plan to attend and be with Bonnie. Please say a prayer for Anna and for us to have strength and comforting words for her. Thanks so much.
