I just found out that a young lady in my grief support group is mentally disabled and never really lost a child. She has told us she lost two daughters and then her husband all of a sudden. Then a car accident and the lies just piled on. Finally someone in another group contacted her family and found out it was all made up. You have to feel sorry for someone like that who has such a strong need for something that it is all a fantasy. And it is hard for people in our group to understand, too, as they pour their hearts out and end up finding out someone has been fooling them. We are not saying anything to her as they are afraid of repercussions from her but trying to discourage her by not answering her posts, etc.
Anyway, please keep her in your prayers. How sad to be want something so badly you make up a whole life for yourself. And how hard for the others in the group. It isn't the first time I have come across this before, either. Actually, it is about the 3rd or 4th, believe it or not. One hazard of online groups, though.....
