Tonight at 6:05 a major bridge over the Mississippi collapsed. It is just awful. The guys (my husband and two sons) drove on the bridge NEXT to it just before that.......my future DIL drove over the bridge that collapsed just ten minutes before it went down. I am praying no one we know was on it. So many from our area work in the cities and drive home on these major roads every day. No clue about fatalities yet. Many injured. Two major trauma centers are being used. I am just sick watching this..... On top of that a storm is moving in with lightening and heavy rain. A school bus full of kids fell when it collapsed but sounds like they are all ok other than some broken bones, etc. One lady said she saw people for sure who were dead and several cars went into the river so they have divers going after them.

We have heard that my nephews are ok and my husband's best friend. My son, a volunteer with the sheriff's dept., is in the area helping out right now. Latest is 3 dead and 37 injured for sure at this point.

Please keep our area in your prayers. I am sure this will affect SO many people...

Last I heard 6 are dead.

My prayers will be with the people who were on that bridge when it colapsed.
This is just awful.

A friend's co-worker drove home on that bridge and her husband has not heard from her.

Please keep them in your prayers too.

Her co-worker was found dead.

She was one of the first four bodies recovered and identified. She died from blunt force trauma.

Please keep her family in your thoughts. She is survived by her husband and 2 daughters.

She must have been the 60 year old lady. I saw the interview with her husband and his voice was trembling. I thought later how hard he was going to take it when I heard they had identified her as one of the ones who had died. How sad....

A woman who is 5 mos. pregnant and her 2 year old daughter are still missing and they were on the bridge. They found another body today so the death count is at 5 with 8 still missing. It is a miracle that it isn't a higher number considering how many cars they feel went into the river.

I have been praying for this tragedy all over my Christian sites.

Monette my deepest condolences to your friends coworker found dead.

My love and prayers with the husband and family.

Big prayers for the 5 month pregnant woman and her 2 year old daughter.

Please we beseech Thee Lord. Also for the other victims.

Here in UK we heard unconfirmed reports that 30 were dead with

about 67 injured. I pray this is not true.

Lord heard our cries.

Old Slewfoot is on the attack but it only brings Lord Jesus closer to us.

My heartfelt sympathies to those involved. In trauma.

They lowered the number from 30 to just 8 yesterday. However, many more were injured than originally had been thought. So sad.....
