a refuge for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble.

Painful changes have entered my life, O Lord. They put me on the defensive, and I've been fighting them until I'm weary and confused. Now I don't know where to turn.
As this grief attacks me, set me firmly in the refuge of Your Son, who never changes. Thank you that even when the enemy seems to overwhelm me, I have Jesus beside me. I can stand firm in oppression, knowing You are my shelter. I am running to You now, Lord, for protection. Open Your Arms and keep me safe in Your love, no matter what battles rage inside Amen.
