O Lord God:

When I was a little child, I was aware of the things around me that went wrong. pets die, parents divorce, love is lost, and friends hurt my feelings. As an adult, I know there are many things I cannot control, no matter how hard I try, and many of life's events break my heart. But still I hope, because through it all I have You. You can heal even the deepest loss and painful hurt.
Thank You for this hope, for allowing me to lean on You in the bad times. With hope, anything is possible.
