He put me on Voltaren (DICLOFENAC). Diclofenac is used to relieve pain, swelling (inflammation), and joint stiffness caused by arthritis. Reducing these symptoms helps you do more of your normal daily activities. This medication is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

Since the name bran of the drug didn't ring a bell (Voltaren), when I got home I recognized the generic name I remembered I had been on it before, therefore, it did not work, well under the circumstanced I am going to give a shot and see if it works.  When I took it before, I was taking it for other reason.

The doctor examined my hips, he said I have arthritis.  I mentioned to him, if he thinks I should get a x-ray, he said sure, so he gave me papers to get my hips examined.

Oh, I really like this doctor...I haven't found a doctor who actually cares about my health.

So, with the Ultram, Voltaren, and Lortab...the doctor explained to me, between the three will work together, I should tell the difference with the pain.  I am sure it will take six weeks for the medication to get in my system...most medications are the same, although it depends on the person.  With me it doesn't that long, sometimes within  week.

Umm...I think that is all, unless there is something I left out...lol

They usually recommend to take NSAIDs with food because they have a habit of being a little hard on the stomach with long term use.  I'm not familiar with Diclofenac.  But I wouldn't be surprised if it were the same way, hon.

Hope it works for you.  I'm glad you like this doctor.  I keep telling people, keep trying.  Eventually, you'll find a doctor that you'll connect with.

Hugs and lots of love,

Dan

Hi Andrea,

They love the dam stuff diclofenac in the UK i have been on them 6 years now. I whould eco what dan has said if you have any trouble with your stomack take them with food they will give you really bad ulcars if your not carefull. But on the good side they do cut down both pain and muscle spasims with lyrica or someting it's quite efective.

Yes, with the Diclofenac, I am to take it with food it can cause ulcers, I am pretty sure the doctor mentioned it would cause kidney problems, (don't quote me).

It has been a busy week.  Yesterday, I had my monthly visit with my psychiatrist...I have no patience.  Argh!  I hurry just to wait...life is a wait.  Wait on this person and wait another...it is so frustrating, argh

When I got done seeing my psych I went to the pharmacy to get my prescriptions filled.  I was in there oh 15 minutes, I looked at the clock I said cool the bus will be passing through. So, I acrossed the street to catch it.

I looked at the driver saw that he is not the usual driver's, he said, yep I am a new one.

Oh Dear Lord, this guy needs more practice handling the bus.  The idiot completely over a steep curb.  I FREAKED!  The first thing I thought OH MY GOD THE BUS IS GOING END UP ON ITS SIDE!!!!!

Now, I always move close to the window, in case someone wants to sit with me.  Well, I had my purse right beside me.  When the guy hit the curb my purse and bag flew across the bus sliding over where the driver was sitting.  That is pretty far!  This has never happen the whole 15 years I have rode the bus.

There's more...I injured myself real bad.  In a instant, my left elbow started to hurt, so I took my jacket off I looked at my elbow it bruised THAT FAST, I couldn't believe it.

So, this morning my wrist was hurting, then my shouldedrds (sorrry my keyboard is going crazy is going crazy it is new, so excus me with the typos)

My doctor had already gave me papers to get x-rays on my back...so I was there in the diagnose imaging section in the hospital I asked the techicians to page my doctor, if it was ok to get my wrist, hand, and shoulders...I thought "why not" I am already there. My doctor told them to go ahead.  Sure it took about a half hour to take the tests.  I would say the techinican took 7-8 pictures...but boy that table was cold an hard to lie on...OUCH.

I guess I'll fill you all in on what else is going on. I have been talking to Chuck about me going back to work...we really need money, desperately!  So, Tuesday, I went to town I already had a place that I jut might get hired, plus one of my relatives works, in fact, she has been working there for more than 30 yrs.

So, I filled out an application, I was also interviewed briefly.  I was honest, I told the man that I am receiving SSI, and disabled, but it won't interefere my duties.  So, he told me he'd contact me within a week.  I feel confident.

Chuck & I discussed about my SSI check...and MORE than anything, my medical card (Medicaid).  He said if I lose my medical, then its not worth it.

So, today I went to the social security office.  I spoke to a case worker. I told her I have been thinking about going back to work.  I didn't tell her I already filled out an application...gotta watch your P's & Q's.

She told me I won't lose my SSI benefits, nor the medical card....OH SUCH  A RELIEF!

Anyway, this is pretty much the news for now.  I HAVE got to rest my wrist & shoulder.

Will keep in touch.
