Hi there --

Found y'all again.  And what is UP with that Multiply thing?  There's a banner here upon entering that says MSN Groups is leaving in Feb. for Multiply.  Then I read, in Multiply, not to pay attention to that.

(Channeling Bill Cosby's voice ...) Tis my nature to be confused.  I don't mean to be confused.  But I get confused easily, it seems...

Ahem.  I yam in Oregon. Again. But probably not for long.  It just occurred to me a couple of days ago:  I am, for all intents and purposes, homeless.  Yarg!! Very unsettling.  Each day my brain halves fight with each other: Calif? Oregon? Calif? Oregon?  Both places have plusses.

Currently, I sit in one of only two wi-fi cafes in the area, which is 30 miles east of Salem, OR.  Salem people refer to this area -some of them, anyway -- as "Deliverance country."  I spent 55 years in San Francisco, so it's one hell of a transition.  Maybe one I cannot make, in truth.  Could be this old gal is simply unable to 'do' Oregon.  But the old gal better decide PDQ.

Otherwise, I toddle about.  Doing job apps; writing to my baby son in Ft. Benning, which little rascal is doing exceedingly well.  Most recent, he became a squad leader, in chg of 13 guys -- who he says are mostly "sharp as a bag of marbles, Mom.."  I replied, "O my, dear!  you have to made a passle of young people obey rules?!  Get up and do what they gotta on time?! Horrors!"  He writes back: "Yeah yeah, Ma..."

Po' baby.

The other 3 kids have their own drama, too lengthy to write here, and, frankly, I don't wanna even think about that stuff right now.

Hope all are (relatively) well -- I will check back as I can; finding an internet hook up out here ain't easy.

Roze

Is there any point in asking you to send me an e-mail address, young lady?? Do you even HAVE one right now? LOL Guess not, really. Do you have my home address still? Don't you have a couple sons in California? I would hope you could stay with one or the other of them at least for a while. Please try to let me know where you are and how you are, hon. Debby has my contact info if you've lost it.
Cyndy

Whoa!!!  There's a blast from the past!!!

How in the world are you, Roze?  Gosh, that's two people who have been missing in action checking in tonight.  But you've been gone the longest for sure.

It's wonderful to see you, hon. Check back in when you can.  And do keep up with one of us. I'm [email protected] if you need to e-mail me.

Lots of love and healing hugs,

Dan

We will be moving to a new site for 2009, as soon as the site is decided, we will post it on the message board and send it out to all the members, and put it on the Home page as well.

Hope you make a decision soon as to where you're going to put down roots.  Good luck and good to see you again, Roze.  Hope to hear more from you.....SOON.

I do have an email -- [email protected]

How's that?  A pseudonym but it works.  I am currently bunking with a good friend of mine who has chronic pain, and takes the appropriate pain meds, from a doc that doesn't have his head up his hindparts.

Her sister is another matter, always at hand to spit whatever nasty zinger out about "pills!" she can.  Sometimes I can control my mouth; sometimes not. I know -- from experience -- that her dosage is only average.  It works; good that it works as we all know that the prospect of 24/7 pain as the alternative ain't one of those things we have to grin and bear -- not in 2008.

I am looking, scouring state job banks for both OR and CA.  I am (constantly, it seems, like a frickin hobby..) taking the LSAT Dec. 6.  Hey, some people do video games; I take the LSAT -- over and over.

Cyndy:  Both #2 son (the one with the family) and my daughter, Angela, are in CA.  Rich is in Alaska, still for 18 years, and Matt's the Army dude in Georgia.

Matt's coming back for "exodus" (why they call it that I do not know) in Dec and I'm traveling down there to see those who are there.

I still (no job) have no medical ins.  Knock wood and cross my fingers, the worst thing has been paying a doc to get my blood pressure meds.  There's a doc across the street here who prob will see me for under $100 when I have to renew the stuff.  Other'n that, the dentist and the optometrist never see me; I have a very complete little dental kit; it makes my friend laugh watching me be my own dentist (hell, *she's* got falsies! I dunno what she thinks is so amusing.... hmph).

Overcast (wow a news flash!) here in Oregon today.  The place is loaded with, well, lumber men... (hooboy) and I must say, they certainly must eat their Wheaties.   Very distracting, doncha know.

On the pain front: my spine and hands are here.  Tolerable, most days.  I have this trick thumb, tho: it sticks.  In one position.

More later -- be well, everyone, and I'd love catch-up messages!  My brain's lost track of who does what, etc.

Roze

My dear Roze! How are we doing, long time since we chatted. Now Deliverance country??!!! That has a bit of a wired connotation does it not! Is it because it sets you free or they are good about delivering some of the illicit stuff they grow up that way. LOL, we West Coasters know what they grow in those places hahahahahaha! I just had to use a bit of old California wit there my girl! Worse is I just came thru Oregon less than a year ago, and I was thru there two or three years ago too. Oh wells, we cross paths but never meet, tis the way of life isn't it. And they say the world gets smaller or does it really?????
I still say you ought to ditch the West Coast and come east! Go east young lady, go east sayeth the Hiss! Go to where the air really is clean and the life good and the seasons cradle you in wonder. Heck you can survive on a whole lot less here you know. None of that high flaluttin stuff here, well not unless you go to the bigger cities hahahahaha! But wise women stay out of those places and seek refuge where God's grace and wonder still abounds!
You be careful up there. I think they caught that Green River killer didn't they??? I can't remember, but maybe they did or maybe it's been a while. The west coast breeds that kind of thing for some reason, maybe the smog! LOL, it's LA and SF water! You take care and I hope the job hunt goes well and that you are okay. Love ya and you have my email address so don't be afraid to use it. I have a good set of ears and you can make them long if you like!
