Hi, I have just recently been put on the fentanyl patch and side effect wise have found it really good compared to some of the narcotics. I started on the Duragesic 25mcg patch and 40mg of methadone among others, which went down from the 75mg that I was on before the switched me to the patch. I havent had any problems with the patch and actually find my self to be more awake but the pain is still far from be controlled so my doctor increased my fentanyl patch yesterday. I have previously had bad side effects with many other narcotics so my doctor thought it would be best to increase slowly on the patch especially because there is no middle ground between the 25mcg and 50mcg and apparently this can be a fairly large jump. So with this increase I am currently on 1and 1/2 of the 25mcg fentanyl patch. I dont actually start the extra 1/2 patch till Friday. Steph 9320 |
