I am hypoglycemic with the risk of getting type 2 diabetes. I lost a baby back in January and no one really knew why. Part of me wonders if this had anything to do with it. My husband and I want a family (2 kids, one boy, one girl) but if it is too risky, then we are not going to try to have a biological child. Should I have a baby? Is it safe?

I respondend earlier and of course it froze up on me so here I go again!  I think it's very possible to have your own children.  I have a 2 year old and am trying again.  I'm a type 1 for over 22 years now - wow that's so long.  But your first step is to get your sugars in control and meet with a OB specialist and see where your sugars are and all that good stuff.  You have to have control BEFORE and DURING your pregnancy to help avoid any possible complications.  You can definitely have a healthy child - just takes a lot of discipline.  Sugars start going crazy, especially the further along you get.  I think at this point you need to consult a specialist and then take it from there.  Good luck.

Many years ago, I lost 2 pregnancies.  I am very sorry for your loss, and what pain you went through.  But my doctor told me, very specifically and in no uncertain terms, "NO MORE!"  Has you doctor recommended that you not try again?  Have you asked his/her opinion?  What does your husband think?  In my case, the pregnancies themselves actually threatened my life, let alone that they were unsuccessful.  If you are healthy (other than the hypoglycemia) and you can control your blood sugars, there is a good chance that you can have children.  Just make sure to run it by your gyno and your endo to be safe, OK?  HUGS!  sheryl

I took 2 tests and nothing. I think the reason I want to be pregnant is to have some stability in my life. I think all the stress is jacking with my psyche.

Stress will do it!  It is the first thing to go when the body is experiencing changes caused by stress.
BTW~  May well be none of my business, but...do you really think it is a good idea to bring a child into an otherwise unstable environment?  You said you wanted stability in your life.  You said things were creating hovoc in your psyche.  Maybe you should find a way to straighten that all out before you bring another person into the mix.  Just a thought...  HUGS!  sheryl

I may be pregnant. I am going to wait until after the time in September when my period should arrive to take a test, but all the signs are there. Is insomnia normal, too?

Congratulations Nicole ! take care of yourself and you should do fine hon. I don't know about insomnia- if it's one of the symptoms of pregnancy maybe someone else knows.
