For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together. For nature, it is a time of sowing, of  scattering abroad.

Wow!  I actually got a reply page to come up!  That's a start!  Too bad I don't have anything exciting to post now.  (lol)

I have lots of choices about what to do today but I'm not commiting myself to any of them.  One thing for sure is picking up scripts for mom and I and from then on, we'll see how the day goes.

Jim goes back into work tonight after having a few off.  He is beginning to look trimmer and fitter.  Most of his life has been desk jobs and that's what has made this job such a major adjustment for him. But he seems happy with it and his feet are slowly becoming adjusted too.  He has new insoles made from some material that his foot doctor gave him and they are making the world of difference.  Of course my tender ministrations must be helping too.  lol  Humm... Should that be administrations?  Need a literary opinion on that one.

I hope everyone is having a better day today.  Take care all and keep safe.

PAT

Marsha:  Happy Anniversary to you and Michael!
The number of years doesn't really matter when you have found the one that was meant for you.  Have a great day.

Well, let's see if this will post now!

Good evening everyone! Hope you all are having a wonderful day. Mine has been ok, Got up and decided that no one in the world could of made me go to town today. Since Wednesday is my day with out Caity I usually go to walmart and all, but I refused to do that today.. LOL.  I did some cleaning and changed our bed , I got out the flannel sheets, since the nights are down in the 40's here I figured that they would feel pretty good. (Ha! We will probably roast!) So I changed the comforter and all too. So Bill and I have spent most of the day trying to get things all washed back up. Then I ran some plastic bottles to the recycle bin. Went to the store and thats about it. We had leftover chicken soup for dinner.

Pat - I am sure you all enjoyed the chowder!! At least you won't have to throw any out as I do with a lot of leftovers around here. Hope Jim has a good night at work! Take care.

Marsha - - HAPPY ANIVERSARY!!!!!!!! HOPE YOU HAD A NICE DAY!!          I was glad I could give you all a laugh about my feet!! lol. Take care.

Gene - - - You sure have been busy with Brie and the garden!!  The hottub sounds great!!! Have a glass of that wine for me! Take care.

Have a wonderful evening everyone! Kathy

Good morning!  Thank you, for all your anniversary wishes! We had a nice quiet evening. Nothing special, but we're planning to go out for dinner this weekend.

We've been having some beautiful weather! The days are up around 85, and the nights down to around 60. Lots of sunshine, too!

Gene - I'm so glad you could make it in! MSN seems to be doing a bit better the last day or so. Let's hope it stays that way!
You've been busy! Extending your deck to the hot tub sounds wonderful!
How did your dinner go? It sounds so good!

Pat - I'm so glad Jim's feet are adjusting. It sure is a change after having desk jobs! I'm sure the insoles he got from the foot doctor are better than anything he could have found in the stores.

Kathy - You had a nice restful day! Sometimes all that running around from one store to another can make you really tired.

Skeeter - LOL! Did you save that picture? OMG! That was taken at Christmas 2006. My daughter was busy taking pictures right after we had dinner. I think we looked stoned! LOL!

I'm going to go and get something done around here. You all have a really great day!
Hugs, Marsha

Nothing like a hot pot of tea first thing in the morning!  (And someone around to keep refilling your cup)  lol

Well yesterday was a really laid back day around here.  That doesn't happen very often.  We had nothing planned for today either so I plan to spend time with mom.

First is getting her showered and setting her hair and then I'll see about geting her lay on her tummy (perhaps with pillows?) so I can give her a good massage.  She hasn't had one in ages and I know her shoulders and back could really use it. She is only 4'10" and has the rounded shoulders so they tend to get very tight.

She has a lot of things that she needs done on her computer too.  That should take the bulk of the afternoon.  All new folders for email storage so she can find what she wants easier and her growing number of tags needs some new folders too.

We have a really nice looking day today and I'd like to throw open all the windows to give the place a good airing out. A good vacuuming downstairs wouldn't hurt either.  Jim plans to sleep most of the morning and early afternoon anyway.

Today being Thursday, I will also collect all of mom's little waste baskets for garbage day Friday. A friend of ours gave us their old freezer - its a very small one.  Mom has decided that she wants her little one in her kitchen now instead of the pantry so perhaps we can do that this afternoon too. Then I can put the new one in the pantry as a spare.  I'll have to wait for Jim to wake up for the actual moving though.

How nice to have a day or two without plans or appointments being made for you!  I hope you are all enjoying your own day.  Take care and keep safe.

PAT

Kathy - Well you didn't go to town but you sure got a lot done at home!  Good for you!  I seldom throw any left overs away.  They get sealed in containers and into the freezer for the next fridge soup!

Betty - Nice to hear from you today!  I hope you are having a good one.

Marsha - Glad you could have a restful day too.  I had to snag your tag this morning!  So cute.

Hello everyone! Hope you all are well! I am doing OK. Had Miss Caity today. She has a big egg (booboo) on her forehead! She had fell yesterday at home, and hit the coffee table.  Thankfully the corners are rounded, but she hit hard. Tracy was so scared, we all were. But she is a trooper and is fine! She told me today that it will heal ! That's what she keeps saying about my gouty foot too. It will heal !
I made us some potato salad today. Then we had burgers with it for dinner.  Caity was eating all my potatoes tho, she wanted raw ones, then she found my boiled eggs and had 2 of them!

Betty -  Hi good to see you! How are you doing?

Marsha - - I'm glad you hd a quiet evening last night,, and that your weather is rely pretty! Ours was too, but they are calling for rain tomorrow and most of next week! Just hope we dont get any more wind storms!  Take care.

Pat - - - Glad you have a couple free days! Wish I had 2 in a row. Maybe this weekend, but I am sure something will mess it up! LOL. Take care.

Well everyone have a great evening! Take it easy! Kathy

Good morning!  There's a bit of fog around this morning, but it'll be another beautiful day when it all burns off.

I really don't have a whole lot planned for today. I do need to get a couple of loads of laundry done, so will probably get that early.
Mr Boofuss is feeling feisty this morning. He's been running up and down the hallway - grabbing at my ankles as I walk by. I think he's worn himself out now, because he's just laying here on the desk.

Pat - It sure is nice to have a couple of days to just do what YOU want to do! Did you get to give your Mom that massage? I'll bet her back felt alot better!

Kathy - Awww! Poor Caity! Monica told me that as long as the lump pops out, then everything will be okay. But, if it doesn't, then you need to see the doctor. Those bumps on the head can be scary!
Potato salad and hamburgers sounds good! We just may have to have that one day this weekend.

I guess I'll go and gather up the laundry. Ewwww! NOT one of my favorite things to do! You all have a great day!
Hugs, Marsha

Yes, another weekend coming up!  It must be our reward for being good and putting up with the regular week.  (lol)

Poor Jim was really tired and sore when he got home from work this morning. For those of you who don't know, he works at Walmart (nights) and they are just starting their anniversary sale!  He said he was literally run off his feet all night! There were as many customers during the night as there usually are during daylight hours. People were checking out two and sometimes three carts!

I wonder if mom and I dare face the crowds sometime today?  Hummm...  A good sale is always very tempting.  Time to stock up on my pantry items, especially toilet paper and Scott towels. My large pantry is the whole laundry room which got converted years ago with shelves from floor to ceiling.  I do all of mom's laundry from my own machines hidden in a large closet off my kitchen, so there are no longer any machines downstairs. That left tons of room to satisfy my pack-rat tendencies. It also means that mom can do her shopping right on the same floor straight from the pantry!  Gotta like that....

I also have my own small pantry just off my kitchen in another closet. I just keep stuff in there that I know I will be needing for the week.  It saves me from having to go downstairs to fetch stuff.  Hate those stairs!

So today being Friday means laundry, recycling and garbage day.  This week they picked up yard waste (thank goodness) and those bags of cut grass are finally gone from my garage.  They were really fermenting and smelling worse every day.  Who would have thought that mere grass could smell so bad?

Yesterday we got mom's small freezer moved right into her kitchen (from the pantry)  That will make it easier for her and allowed us to move another small freezer of ours out of the garage and into the pantry.  I will be using this one for storing mostly boxed items that take up so much room in my upstairs freezer. Ha ha  It is beginning to sound that our family revolves around food!  Well... I guess we do!  (lol) Maybe that's why I have become such a good cook?  (lol)

Jim has already gone to bed after a short chat over our hot tea.  He should be good for hours, leaving me free to get into all kinds of mischief.  (lol)  I hope you are all having a great day.  Take care and keep safe.

PAT

Kathy:  I'm glad little Caity is ok.  One time Tara did that same thing.  She jumped off the couch expecting one of us to catch her but none of us were even in the room!  She too hit the coffee table but she wasn't so lucky as Caity.  She split her forehead open and had to go to emerge and get stitches in it! What a sad way for her to learn a lesson eh?

Marsha: Yes mom got her massage and it did make a big difference.  She almost fell asleep laying there.  (lol) I haven't checked on her yet this morning but I'm hoping she had a good night. I also got her place all cleaned up - windex, furmiture polish, vacuuming, etc.  Now I need someone to do all that for me!  (yeah right)

Hello all.!! Another long day here. I am tired this evening! Think I will lounge around tonight for awhile. Miss Caity never took  a nap today! Whew!!! She was tired - but just wouldn't fall asleep, she was still very active tho. Not hyper, just herself!  We had a cool cloudy day here. It was supposed to rain but hasn't  yet.

Marsha - Must be the day for laundry. WE got ours all done up again. Course by tonight there will be more. -- have a woderful evening.

Pat   - - I know if I had to go to wal-mart during a big sale like that, I'd stay home. I just can't do crowds anymore. I guess I have no patience! ------ Glad your mom loved the massage! ___ Poor Tara, tha was probably a lesson she never forgot!! Caity's boo boo is down today, but turning all kinds of black and blue.

Have a wonderful evening everyone! I am just going to chill !!        Kathy

Good morning!  We've got alot to get done today, so this will probably be rather short. We'll have another gorgeous day to do our running around. Mr Boofuss woke me up this morning by walking on me. LOL! It was past his breakfast time, and he had to let me know. So now, we're sitting here with our coffee and thinking about what we need to do.

Pat - Gee! The Wal-Mart here in town isn't having an anniversary sale.    We were there yesterday evening, and there wasn't anything special going on. Sometimes the middle of the night is the best time to go! Usually, you don't see all the kids that the parents let run loose!
Have a nice weekend!

Kathy - I'll bet Caity slept good last night! You too, for that matter! I didn't get to do the laundry yesterday. There were 2 ladies down in the laundry room who were hogging ALL the washers! They let me know that they were going to be there for most of the day. Geez! So, I'll do it tomorrow.

Better get a move on! You all have a great start to your weekend!
Hugs, Marsha

Saturday morning!  We were supposed to get sunshine again but Mother Nature pulled a fast one - rain. But we can always use that too. Jim came home from work filled with stories about the shoppers.  He said they were literally fighting over product and the guys couldn't keep the shelves stocked fast enough.  I'm glad I didn't go last night after all - besides I was way too tired to face that.

The new little freezer seems to be working fine.  We had put a container in it filled with water and it is frozen solid this morning.  So now I just have to figure out how and when I can fill it up!  (lol)

Didn't do too much yesterday just spent a few hours with mom while Jim slept.  I did a bit of tidying up but that's about it.  Of course I got the laundry done up.  Nothing planned for today either.  I can't believe I have had so many non pressure days in a row!  Sure is a change.

Wishing you all a good weekend.  Take care.

Hello all! How has  your day been? Mine was fine up til about 3:30. Got the house all cleaned up and Tracy and the kids cmae over , deciding to bring me a B-day cake. Tomorrow is my B-day, but since it is also Tracy's in-laws 40th. anniversary, they decided today would be my day and tomorrow they would take her in-laws out to dinner tomorrow! So that was nice that they thought of me, since last weekend (when we went to Pa. ) was supposed to be my B-day present! But anyway after having lunch and a piece of cake I got sick and it all came back up! (sorry) I am feeling some better now tho.  So I am going to just lay down soon and see if everything is ok.

Marsha - Don't work too hard today. Hope you got all yor chores done! It is warm here today too. But kinda cloudy all day!  Take care.

Pat- I'm sure Jim will see a lot of nuts at walmart fighting for things especially with the holidays coming!! Glad you are getting some free time, you deserve it! Take care.

Have a great night all. Kathy

Good morning!  I think we went non-stop yesterday. We were both tired by the time we got everything done. So, we got some Chinese take-out and brought it home for supper. Sure was good!

Today, I've got to get that laundry done, so will go down in about an hour. There shouldn't be anyone there! And, I can get it done without the rowdy kids running around. Otherwise, it'll be a nice quiet day.

Pat - When Monica worked at Wal-Mart, she worked in the electronics section. She had to work the day after Thanksgiving one time. They always have these big sales. She said there were all kinds of fights that would break out! The store had to hire cops to keep order! LOL! So, I can imagine what Jim was seeing. People can get so crazy when there's a big sale.
Isn't it nice to have several no-pressure days? I'm sure you're getting lots of rest!

Kathy - Happy Birthday! I sure hope you're feeling better. Sometimes things just don't set on our stomach like they should. Just take it easy today!

I better get going. You all have a great day!
Hugs, Marsha

Hello everyone - I hope you are all having a good Sunday? We have a gorgeous sunny day today and it has lifted my spirits enough that I am actually considering braving the crowds at Walmart this afternoon.  I must be nuts to even think about going there and taking mom with me. No-one would bang into a little old lady would they?  I can use her for my battering ram!  (lol)

Jim came home absolutely exhausted this morning and is already in his bed and gone for the count. He again, was telling me stories of customers fighting over product and buying caseloads of stuff. They were buying things for the kids lunches too - juice boxes by the case full,  cookies - especially Oreo at $1.47 per box, cereals of all kinds for 2 for $5.  Great prices sure but come on!  Do you have to supply yourself with a years worth? Jim said there were whole sections in the food department that were absolutely empty.  They couldn't stock them fast enough and people were taking product right off the stocker's pallets before they even got them onto the shelves. Must be nuts over there!

Not much in the way of other news today as I have been very lazy the past few days. It's been nice and relaxing but I think its time to jump back into life now.  Everything I haven't been doing is sitting here waiting for me (as I knew it would) and there is no lack of things to fill up my waking hours.

Mom's birthday is October 1 and she will be 87.  What do you buy for an 87 year woman?  I have a problem with this every year.  Any good ideas folks?

Take care all and have a great day!

PAT

Hello all. Well another year older and deeper in debt! Ha ha-- well no I'm not in debt but had to say it!  I had a lazy day here, my tummy is  still a bit upset, so I just laid around and read my book and then I made Bill some Chili, but I didnt have any! I had a cup of soup! lol. Maybe tomorrow I can try the chili. We decided not to go anywhere, it was a dreary day. Then it rained off and on. I think this week is supposed to cool down to the 60's for the highs. Think we may have to turn the furnace on...

Marsha - Wow you were busy yesterday. We did some clothes today too. Seems thats all we get done. Take care.

Pat - - Good luck at wal mart. I thought of going early this morning then changed my mind! -- We used to have the same trouble with my MIL, Never knew what to get her for B-days and  Christmas. She had everything! Maybe a new sweater or throw blanket.

Thank you both for the B-day wishes!!
Take care everyone, hugs, Kathy
