Eragor leans into the man. He can't even answer you. His mouth opens but his jaw is smashed and only blood runs from his mouth. Whispering he mumbles, all dead.

THe right hand is severed but with his left he reaches out for you. Torn from the neck of something he shoves an amulet at you. A wrought iron pentagram in a black circle. It still has the skin tether attached to it. His mount has a wicked looking spear all the way thru it's side. It has died already. It was Tro-aull. He was to have met up with you later near here.

Slumping against you he death rattles. Youu Laaaaassssss.....

Raven eyes locked on Malacais. Without a word, a couple spells had already taken effect as soon as a blade touched Ravens throat. His skin turned a slight grey, and pulses of electricity arced here and there from his fingers to the chair, and down to the ground around him. Reyco and Malacai both could feel the electrical power building as even the hairs on their arms began to stand on end. (Chain Contingency spell activated.) However, the voice of Amagato brought sense to the wizards face once more. He blinked his violet eyes and knocked the sword away from his neck. Still looking to Malacai, he simply states... "Perhaps my words were a little too harsh, and premature. Amagato is right, we need to stick together in this time of war. However... if you ever draw your sword on me again, I will destroy you." He then moves the chair into a slow walk tward the Temple road once more.

Peppin watched for a moment with interest, then quickly looked to Amagato and Sydney rubbing his stinging head. "What the?" After Sydney exclaims something bit her, he soon deducts the same reasoning. "Come on Syd. That wizards probably started summoning nasty bugs. We better go before were eaten alive by more of them. We'll go to the Market for some fun, then we'll go see the towers again." He looks over the treetops to where the Trinity Hilltop was located. He then looked puzzled as he looked around the other directions... "Wait a minute... wasnt the towers over there? Where did they all go?" His curiosity was getting the better of him quickly... "C'mon Syd, lets go see what happened to the towers."
(Headed to The Rift Thread.)

Malacai listens to Amagato's words without much interest.  Though the wujen was old and wise, nothing here truly mattered to Malacai anymore.  This place was suicide and any stranger foolish enough to get involved would most likely end up dead...as some had already witnessed.

The Blademaster listens to Ravens words and erupts in a huge fit of laughter.

"Ahah....hahhaha...HAHAHAHAH OHHH  now THATS rich!  Destroy me!  HAHAHAHAHA!!!!  You and your...spider-chair??  Why don't you throw one of your legs at me...that might work!!  And...I never put my sword away, it's still drawn, you weak fool.  Looks like you've done a bang-up job...why don't you give yourself a standing ovation."

Malacai had a sinister grin on his face and was ready in an instant to pounce on the mage, should he try anything.  At the slightest movement or word of arcane, Malacai would be on the mage, sword ready to destroy him.

Raven doesnt even aknowledge the insane man, and continues on down the road without looking back. He was in no condition to fight at the moment. His bandaged and crippled body needed time to heal and rest first... then he might look up the Blademaster and settle things later.

(Headed to the Temple for a quick stop, then going to the Rift.)

Amagato's clone stands motionless. He had stated all he had to offer. The rest was up to the hearts of men.

Sydney stood firm until the two men drifted apart. Thier words were loud, but that was all.

Gripping Peppin she agrees to go, Otay Peppy! Let's go have some fun!

Reyco restrains himself from rolling his eyes and stepping forward to halt Malacai.  They were just about out of this crazy town.  Words wouldn't stop that, but battling a powerful mage could.  Still, Reyco is quite confident that the two of them could take on a weakened mage who probably hadn't had enough time to re-memorize the spells he would have used in his previous journey since returning.  Not that he wanted to if he didn't have to.  Then Amagato's voice came to their heads.  That one was just too much, and Reyco couldn't wait to be rid of him, no matter what lessons the young blademaster could have learned from him.

There Reyco stands, a few feet behind Malacai.  He stands in a relaxed stance, simply observing.  Should Malacai stand down and move to leave, Reyco will gladly follow.

Eragor quickly rips the spear out as the man begins telling him he is the last.  He couldn't accept that.  He would save Tro-aull if he could.

Once the spear is out, Eragor will lay on hands in what was most likely a futile attempt to keep his last brother alive.  Eragor doesn't want to take the pentagram yet, hoping that his brothers final quest, getting the amulet to Eragor, being incomplete would make Tro-aull will himself to stay alive longer.  Eragor quickly glances back over his shoulder to see if help is coming, and if not, yells "I NEED HELP, I NEED A HEALER!"

He also glances about for Strike, hoping he hadn't suffered the same fate as Tro-aull's loyal mount, and any enemies that might be near by.

If Eragor heals him immediately, he will clutch to life for a little longer (heal how many hpt? 2?)

The dying mans eyes lock on yours, holding your gaze he brings the medallion inbetween you. He flips its back to you. Crude runes are etched into it. He hisses thru blood bubbles, Bastuullll

It ate thier souls Eragor, ate them like smoke.
He chokes again and worsens. The acid in his veins continues to sear his insides

All of them fell.... at the Highpeak sanctuary. I couldn't get the Moonstone from the altar......I failed. They put thier fear into Neeah (his mount) and she tracked you here.

You.*cough* can't let it have the stone Eragor *gasp* It is our history

*claws at you and dies*

Jarlosh frowns in displeasure. Another call for aid. It would be nice to go a full day and not have to schedule a funeral.

outside near Eragor some peasants come out but they do not advance the whole griffon layden scene frightened them.

Grabbing a small wooden med box the burly barkeep jogs outside to kneel where Eragor tends to his clansman.

Looking the fallen rider over he simply states, He's gone Lad. Offta live with the angels of his faith. Let me call the Digger down so's you can lay your mate ta rest. We need to give this body proper respects and remove him from the street.

Here, i'll help ya. We can lay him and his mount in yonder ox-cart

Eragor drops the spear and listens to his friend's dieing words.  He was the last of his order... Asmodeaus, the enemy of all things, had sent something after them that had eaten the very souls of his brethren, who would now not even have a chance for the afterlife... And it was after the moonstone.  Eragor knew in his heart that he would have to go back and face this thing, whatever it was, and try to save the history of his people and any of the griffon eggs that may be left.  He would be protecting Elmshade at least in doing so, killing the thing before it got here, and would therefore be keeping to the vow that he had made her.

Eragor takes the pentagram out of his brother's clutched hand and Jarlosh comes to meet up with him.  He stares at the pentagram, hate for the ultimate evil bubbling up inside him, hate for such evil that only a defender of all that is good could feel.  He looks up to Jarlosh.  "We burn our dead.  It is a funeral pyre that must be prepared, not a grave."  Living high up in the mountains, there wasn't any spare room for a field to bury dead in, and mining into the mountain itself to create a burial chamber was too much work.  As such, his order had taken on the ritual of burning the rider and griffon together long ago, their souls bound together even in the afterlife.

Eragor lays his hands on the eyes of his friend and closes them slowly before saying a prayer and standing.  "I could use the cart though, I need to prepare both he and his mount for the burning."

Eragor proceeds to move the bodies out of immediate sight of the people and try to make them look as noble as possible, buying white garments from the market or the temple if they have them.  He takes all of the equipment from Tro-aull and Neeah.  What they had worn belonged to the order and would be passed down to the next who needed them.  In this case, Eragor took all equipment that was better than his own.  The rest he would ask to be stored in the temple in the case he could, in the long days ahead, restore his order and come back for it.

((OOC: Don't know how much of that you want to role-play out or just story-tell Loki, do your thing and I'll pick up where you leave off.))

Jarlosh nodded sternly, Aye, tis the way of the highlanders. Clan McFeargus keeps a Pyre stone anointed out on the far side of the cemetary.

We'll take care of ye Brother there, if you''ll have it that is. Seeins as how that Charnoble lady tisn't about you'll need another escourt inta the gates of yonder grounds.

Jarlosh points to a couple of young gawking farm hands. This be Browns boys. They till the northern slopes nearest the cemetary. They'll help ya tend to your Mate there.

You Browns can forget about yer tabs at the Root if you see this Lad to the end of his business. Lace yer Ox to that cart and do as he asks of ye.

Shrugging to one another the boys begin to prep the cart, load the cargo as gingerly as possible and ask you if your ready to make way to the cemetary on the outskirts of town. Seems thier bar tab may be considerable.

You obtain burial wraps from a plump old seamstress. She takes your coin as she slams the door on your toes.

The brothers take turns explaining as you walk that several folk have up and left. Some have even left all of thier belongings and personal effects behind. Strange things that business, like they jumped up frm a hot meal and just walked off.. They figure they must have gone on to the hinterlands at the base of the mountains or even gone to the sea ports beyond.

OOC This mans gear is sub-par compared to your maintained gear. Most is damaged or has a visible greenish barnacle like substance onit. The coral looking layer radiates evil. His equip looks like it has sat on the bottom of a sea for some time.

The only thing that doesn't look tarnished or detect as evil is a single arrow. It is made of a black bone shaft and has eagle feathers opposite its turquoise razor head. Strange red runes are drawn down it's length.

Malacai grins as Raven simply keeps walking along, chuckling to himself.  The blade is sheathed and the Blademaster turns to his apprentice.

"Typical pompous wizard.  All bark and no bite.  He'll talk trash all day, then whimper and scamper away.  This one is no different."

Malacai then turns and continues on his way out of Elmshade...wishing this place the best of luck, while not getting involved himself.

Siannodell and Justinius both left the Inn and walked back toward the Temple.

Justinius knew that he and the mighty Treant guardians of Elmshade, the Sentinels, would more than likely be needed in the coming days of battle. He went around to all of his brethren and their 'mounts' and briefed them on all that had been said at the meeting in the Twisted Root. The druids were all more than ready to help defend the village.  The archdruid returned inside to the part of the Temple which was still standing, and sat with Mother Siannodell to discuss a few things regarding strategy.

Sia knew the village faced almost impossible odds. With such violent, evil forces coming against them, the priestess knew they would need all of the help they could somehow summon. The two younger blade-masters had left, which was a big loss, but Sia knew they had to follow their own paths. In many ways she didn't blame either of them - this was not their fight, they had simply been passing through. Sia knelt in front of the stone altar and gave a heart-felt prayer to Mielikki that the Goddess would shine favor upon the defenders of the village once again. When Justinius entered the sanctuary, Sia ended her prayer and sat with the elder man to talk about how to best prepare for the encroaching war.

Reyco sighs silently as Malacai does not pursue the mage and sheaths his sword.  The young blademaster wraps his cloak about himself and moves to follow the elder blademaster as he leaves, glad to be doing so.  The old man was beginning to loose it here in Elmshade.  Normally calm and collected, there was usually no way he would let someone's words get to him like that.  Hopefully the effects weren't permanent and they would wear off in a few days.
