Hello to all,
My name is Kristin and I have been trying to research my great grand mothers family in Ireland. My great grandmothers name was Catherine (Carroll) Conway. Her father was Martin Carroll born 8-22-1874 died 5-30-1957 in Castlerea, Roscommon, Ireland. his wife was Margaret Larkin, I do not know her birthday but her death was 2-18-1965. Here is where I get stuck. They had 8 children. My great grandmom always talked about her two brothers that no one ever heard from, My great aunt seems to think they migt have been invoed with the ira and had to move to england.
anyone have any ideas on how to find out their names?  or the missing birth and death dates of the other brothers and sisters?
The children that I do know of are:
1.Martin
2.Patrick-died 07-31-1973(Ireland) age 63
3.Thomas-died 05-08-1997(Ireland) age 78
4.Catherine-born 10-10-1903(Ireland) died 11-30-1999(USA)
5.Mary Jane-born 6-10-1905(Ireland) died 6-29-1999(USA)
6.Margaret-died 1997 (USA)
Any input would be very appreciated!!

Hi Fran,

I have a lot of info on Catherine, she was my great grandmother, 5 of her 7
children are still living and I talk to them often. She immigrated to the US
on 11-3-1922 on the celtic into ellis island. she stayed with her aunt kate
(carroll) sharkey , her father's (martin) sister, in new jersey. I do have a
copy of the ships manifest from when she arrived.
In answer to another question regarding margaret larkin carroll I just
called my great aunt joan and she was told that margaret went to live with
her sons tom and patrick some time after martins death
My aunt wet to ireland with my greatgrandmother years ago to visit and they
took a picture in fornt of the street sign where Catherine said her mother
lived untill her death. the sign reads arm road, my aunt can't remember if
the town was called arm, ballindrimley or castle rea, but she was pretty
sure it was still co. roscommon.

Kristin, I have been searching the CARROLL surname for this reason:

other family names are:

their children: 2 sons, 1 unknown name and

James McGrath b. 1830 m. Catharine Merrick b. 1838
their children are Michael b. 1857 CT, William, Delia and James

Michael b. 8/21/1857 m. Ellen McCarty/McCarthy b. 5/10/1861 married 1885 CT
their children
James Emmett b. 8/18/1887 Albany, NY
Anna (twin) died)
William CARROLL b. 1889 Albany, NY
