I found a ref to George Alexander And A Susie Hamilton

I believe they were Originally from Scotland.I found Ref to a George Alexander But it Has Married To Mary Hamilton Not Susan.I am not sure where Original Data was found.But feel this is same Family Before Moving to Ireland.There Were two Children Born in Scotland Twins

I am related to Robert & Marys ELLIOTTs daughter Jane b. c 1826-29 who married Arthur ALLEN in 1849 in australia

 

I will certainly have a look at the other sites as I have never seen this family listed anywhere except for info that I have posted.

 

I have two search engines on my MSN sites and havn't had any problems - they get re-spidered every 3 motnhs

Mike,   I found two references to Robert & Mary ELLIOTT on the rootsweb world connect site but both of the e mail addresses are redundant and won't go through

It is definitely the same family

It is possible that the Alexanders originally came from Scotland as I have never been able to research any further than their arrival in 1844 in australia as irish records are rather difficult to access here in australia

The best info I got was from our immigration records which have film reels of extra info attached to the indexes but often irish places are spelt incorrectly.  At least they got Dromore, tyrone correct!

I think that I am going to have to do some further searching for this family as I am trying to find others related to them because I cannot find my gg grandmothers death (Jane b. 1826-29) anywhere.  She married Arthur ALLEN in 1849 in new south wales australia.  I have all the other family records after they arrived in 1844

thank you so much for what you have found & I think I am going to be very busy sorting this one out.

Mike,   I can hardly believe all this as Robert George ALLEN is my great grandfather

 

there were absolutely no files for any of the family when I last checked

 

I will see if I can find other postings from the two people on world connect as I would love to contact them if possib

 

All this extra info has opened a new line of enquiry on this family and given me a new lease on life as I had just about given up on finding more

I have all the details about their life in Australia except for Jane ELLIOTT/ALLENs death which I have been searching for 15 years with no luck.
