I received transcripts of Susannah Boyce & James Sturgeon's death certificates today. Susannah Boyce was born abt 1823, parents David Boyce (occ. farmer)  & Mary Williamson only info of birth, & marriage is Ireland.
James Sturgeon, has almost no info on life in Ireland, father ...Sturgeon,( market gardener) mother unknown., born Clare, Ireland abt 1822
Children listed on certificates, certainly 2 deceased before they left Ireland,  Edward 6 years deceased,   Sarah  Jane 2 1/2 deceased, & young Florella (her name is never spelt correctly, on passage lists Prunella & Pruella, even on her parents D/C listed as Yorella, & Florilla, Eizabeth Jane & Thomas where born in Ireland.

Mike, I just opened my emails & went directly to the site, its been two days since I have been able to, caring for my dad after op.
I am over whelmed with all the work you have done, this is all so amazing!!!!
How can I ever thank you?
In just over two months, you have found a side of my family I would never have found!
This all started because I was frustrated with the only information on my ggg/grandmother was Violet? Once I found her full name a few things fell into place.
I also wanted to find out more about my gg/grandmother Florella Violet, having known & loved her granddaughter (my Nanna Playford).
This is all so wonderful!!!!!
Thank you so much for contacting those in Canada. I'm going to email Darryl today!!
I could use a few Aussie terms like 'Gob Smacked' about all this, but you probably wouldn't know what I mean.
Mike Thank you so much, I still have a lot of work putting it all together, & I have more work to do here on James Sturgeon's children & grand children in Australia, but it is all a "Labour of Love". Goodness, we have crossed two oceans, or more.
This is wonderful! I can't imagine trying to research without belonging to these sites. Liz & Charlee helped so much with Aussie side, & I am so grateful, for her suggesting your wonderful site!
Thank you
Gai

Mike, I emailed Darrel today, just to introduce myself, & a little history of my family.
My Dad is going well, its wonderful for me to know he still has strong will to live. He & Mum were married for 57 yrs when we lost her last year so suddenly. But he is having his cataracts removed, by private specialist, doesn't want to wait for our medicare to pay for it, still has a lot of living to do! He knows he has daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren, & greatgrandchildren who adore him. Plus I need lots of family history from him, & he is enjoying that. I thought remembering the past might be painful for him, but sometimes when were talking, something from his childhood comes to his memory, & it puts a smile on his face. Talking about James's granddaughter yesterday, Dad's grandmother & he tells me of this tiny lady, who dug her own vegie garden & what a wonderfull gardener she was, but Dad loved the Rhurbarb pies she cooked for him.
Dad turns 80 on sunday,14/9/2008 the last of our older family, but I think I'll have him for a while yet.
Thanks Mike, let you know if Darrel returns email.

Mike, Darell replied today, it's truelly wonderful!
I will pass on birthday wishes to my dad, thank you. From him I have learnt so much, & he has wonderful memories, Its difficult to think him as being 80. He is still the young Dad who taught me to fish,  Took us on holidays every year, & loved us all so much, & still does. Greatgrandchildren want him to be part of their lives, he is special to them & wanting to show off their special Poppy Jack at their school concerts. They  miss Mum very much, but we can't keep it all. But I know how blessed we all are! Have very good genes!!!

Patzy, I am so very grateful to Mike, he has worked so very hard!! Mike has not only found my ggg/grandfathers birthplace, brothers & sisters, also their children in Canada, but now my ggg/grandmothers family. Living in Australia, & without Mike's help it is a part of my family I would never have known. My ggg/grandparents James & Susannah were the only ones to come to Australia.
I will say its been a lot to take in, & I also have taken a couple of weeks break from my family history, found it very hard to recover from winter illness. Most of Sydney has suffered, its thought World Youth Day Pilgrams brought many different illness with them, so many of them were ill when they arrived, & for us its been a very cold winter. But spring has sprung, yesterday Saturday 34 degrees today 28 degrees, & summer is still 2 1/2 months away!

Gai i know David had a son john,But because the doc was in 1822,it could either be a brother of David or his father. Not sure how we can find this out at present.
Will get back to you on that.I feel certain that John on there was Possibly his father as he named his son John.

Mike, I did receive info, but it went through my photo shop, & although I tried to fiddle with it, I couldn't read it when it printed. Would you mind sending it again? Maybe if it's sent to our main computer with proper email address, it might be clearer. The last one you sent me was perfect. I always use my laptop hotmail but I know its not always reliable.  [email protected]
Thank you
Gai
