Hi, Everyone! My name is Landon Clary Eason, I am a 51 y/o woman, I live in the SE Ozarks in Missouri. My Daddy was Joseph Kenneth Eason and he told me when I was very young that our heritage was Scotch Irish. My parents divoced when I was 3, and I didn't get to see much of my dad growing up. I have found out a lot about the Easons, but I want to know more if that is possible. I appreciate any information at all!!! The following is some of the information I have found just from Googling the Net. Records show that a merchant in Accomack County, Virginia by the name of John Neale, brought Edward Eason to America as an apprentice on August 22, 1637. There are no records of any descendants from this Edward Eason, never-the-less the record of his arrival in America three hundred forty-seven years ago place the Eason family closely connected to the history of this nation. The Eason familes were land owners, slave holders and men of substance according to county records still available in Virginia and North Carolina.
On March 11, 1664/65, Francis Spike patented land in the Upper Parish of Nansemond County, Virginia at the head of Mathews Creek "butting on the land of William Eason." Some seven months later, on October 20, 1665, Wm. Eason patended 700 acres in the Upper Parish on Mathews Creek "for the importation of himself, wife and twelve other colonists to Virginia." No additional records have been located connected with this William Eason. He most likely died in Nansemond County, Virginia before 1704. It is probable that he left three sons because they appear on the 1704 Rent Roll of that county as land owners. | |

This is simply because the font you use Landon is so big. Space on our site is limited and therefore the bigger the font, the more space it uses. In order to be fair to all members and help as many as possible we try to keep entries to an average size. Kay Manager |
