What i am looking for is my great granfather ?Edward Desmond (no dates) who was married to Kathleen Cleary (not sure of spelling).
I would like to find his siblings and their ancesters .
They had six children Kathleen, May, Michael, Danny, Maurice and Ann.
Maurice Patrick Desmond (my grandfather) was born in Carrigaline Cork (1905-1973). He Married Brigit Hope (1912-1998) (from Mullingar)- in England c 1930.
Ann Desmond is still living in carrigaline but is very frail. She married a Mr Okeefe and adopted a son John who also lives in carrigaline. Unfortunately i have no contact no for him.

Hi Kim It would helpful if you could give us a bit more background if possible. When did the family leave Ireland? Did they live in England or Wales? Approximate dates would be a great help! Thank you. Marian |

Hi Marian My Grandfather Maurice Desmond moved to England and settled in Surrey, Cheam and Croydon, unsure of the year possibly c 1923, but was in the English army during World War 11.His siblings also moved over accept Danny('Dinny') who stayed in Ireland. May was a nurse and Ann worked in service.May and Ann moved back at some point . As a foot note My great grandmothers(Kathleen Cleary) brother David moved to Wales during the minors stike, to work in the Mines. I dont know what happened to him after that. |

Hi Kim I found two entries in the Irish phone directory for J. O'Keeffe, and one A. O'Keeffe in Carrigaline. Also there are 9 Desmonds listed at the present time.
