AUGUST REAMAN, son of William and Louise Ulm Reaman, was born in Kleptow, Germany on July 13, 1876, and departed this life on Tuesday night, July 5, 1949, at Saint Mary's Hospital having reached the age of 72 years, 11 months, and 22 days. In ? he was confirmed into the Evangelical Church of Grant Park and remained a member of good standing to the time of his death. On February 24, 1904 he was united in marriage to Anna Brandt of Manteno, who survives with the following children; Ernest of Grant Park, Arnold of Homewood and Rosanna Grant of Grant Park. Two daughters in law, Ione and Grace Reaman and one son in law Eugene Grant. He also leaves to mourn his passing the following brothers and sister; Rudolph Reaman, Amanda Maass and William Reaman all of Grant Park, a sister Bertha died in infancy. Mr. Reaman was a life long resident of this community and was engaged in farming until about 4 years ago when his health began to fail. He was a faithful husband and father and a devoted grandfather and he will be missed by his family and friends. For the past 2 months Mr. Reaman has devoted himself untiringly day and night to the care of his wife, who suffered a stroke on April 17, 1949...Submitted by: Nicole | MENZO FLOYD SMITH was born June 27, 1866 at Lowell, Ind., the son of Levi and Lydia Hayden Smith. He passed away at his home 213 South Wood Street, Saturday, Nov. 11, 1939 at the age of 73 years. Mr. Smith was married to Lottie Chappell of Grant Park, Ill., Jan., 14, 1891. To this union were born two sons, Verne who survives, and Leslie who preceded him in death ten years ago. Mr. Smith was well known in this community having lived here for more than 30 years. He had been employed at the Arkansas State Mill for more than fourteen years, where he had won the respect and esteem of every employee. He was always referred to as "Dad Smith." He was a kind and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife,one son, Verne and three grandchildren, Duane, Marguerite, and Leslie Smith. Burial took place at Lone Tree Cemetery at 2:30, Wednesday, Nov., 13, with Rev. Geo. Patterson of Blytheville, officiating. Mr. Smith was a member of the Local Christian church. They returned to their homes yesterday...Submitted by Nicole | August Zimmerman, well known and highly respected citizen of Momence, died at his home 212 North Market street, Tuesday evening, June 16 at 6 o'clock at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 15 days. While he has been in failing health for several years, he had only been confined to his bed since Friday, and his death was a sad shock to his many friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock this afternoon from his late home to be followed by services at the Evangelical church in Grant Park at 2 o'clock. Rev. Wahl will officiate. Burial will be in Heusing cemetery near Grant Park. He was born in Germany August 1, 1852 and had lived in and near Momence for the past fifty years, retiring from active farm life about twenty-three years ago when he moved into this city. He was married May 9, 1881 to Ernestine Reaman, who preceded him in death March 29, 1933. There were no children. Mr. Zimmerman leaves a brother Carl Zimmerman of Grant Park, two sisters in Germany, also several nieces and nephews.
