When did you last receive a hand-written, snail mail letter? Who was it from?

The last letter that was hand-written and sent to me was from a very good friend overseas. I am not going to mention his name, but it was a great letter.

I received a few Thank-You letters/notes from some relatives of mine last week(for some deeds I'd done), and this week I had a letter from one cousin, and one of my aunts. I write quite a lot of snail mail and have for many years. I have weekly letters I send out mostly to relatives who do not do computer.

Yesterday I got a letter in the mail from my friend Bryony in Singapore.  She's originally from Scottland and we worked together when she travelled here years ago and we've always kept in touch.  We decided to maintain our friendship only by letter.  We cheat every once and while with an email or two...but she's the pen pal I have had for the longest.
Of course a by-product of this is that I have an addiction to stationary too.
I get mail from friends all over the world....I find it is mostly because we promise to write and because I make sure to reply.  I love mail...as old fashioned as it may seem...there is nothing like it. I also collect post cards.  Post cards capture something...in the moment, there is nothing like showing someone the post card they sent you from years past.  The moment comes flooding back and for an instant they are back in that place where they sent the card from.  It's pretty cool.

Hj, I also have a postcard collection.
I have a lot of my own from places I have been and from people who have sent them to me, and I also have a bunch that are very old (late 1800's); which belonged to relatives of mine. The antique ones are very cool.

I wasn't really thinking when I typed my response yesterday. I got a note in the snail mail on Monday in a belated birthday card.
