I meet Yoshi, who is holding a bottle of soon to be gut rot because, Yoshi is 7ft tall and has legs which are hollow. We're late, of course but why let habits of a lifetime let us down now?
In the apartment, which is frightfully chic and all that, we throw caution and cushions to the floor and just hang out.
By midnight we are all well away, reminisces, warnings and a few rather salacious comments but we know each other so well we can afford to be indiscreet.
These are my friends, I do not see them as often as I would like. They came to cheer me on at my first concert and supported me when I left husband # 2.
We know each other inside out, or rather they think they do, I prefer a little ambiguity, so in the morning while they feel dyspepsic, I'll disappear into obscurity and call them, once in a while.

I like this, Emma, it is nice to have different types of friends, and especially the comfortable ones, where you don't have to pretend to be what you are not, but are accepted for yourself Jen |

There's always a golden vein of autobiography running through your poetry,Emma, which makes it unique. |

I'm not quite sure how you do it, Emma - but you have a real knack for transporting a reader into the scene quite naturally. Very impressed! Merlin |

Thanks Jenny, it is good to have friends who know you so well :) Thanks Philip, not sure about autobiographical at all, just playing around with words :) Thanks Stella for the kind words, much appreciated :) Thank you Ken, glad you found this creative, as I had fun writing it :) Thanks Mark, who needs long, hollow legs lol - I prefer my wine to be a little more mellow these days :) Thank you Merlin, I enjoy writing these sort of pieces, although I have to be in the right frame of mind to do them - complicated lot we poets lol :) Emma x |
