OK....first.....I hope that I don't offend anyone....but I need help.  I have 2 friends that are guys and they are gay.  I had a show with them in December and they had a large number of people there.  We did an interactive show because that is all I have been doing all year long but all these guys were interested in doing were talking and drinking.  However it was a good show high in sales and you guessed it 1 booking.

Now this host is also gay and he was the "chattiest" at my friends show.  Any suggestions on what to do at a show that no one is going to want to listen to me?  But this show has to have a beginning and an end because it is on the last day of january and I have to submit it that night.

Help!

You could do a Dine & Wine style show ~

1. you can show the Dripless Wine Spout
2. you can show the cookware by doing the Asian Pork Noodle skillet dinner (sorry can't remember the real name of it)
3. you can show it in the Dots Medium Round Bowl
4. you can show the Dots Wine glasses
5. you can show the Simple Additions plates by serving your host on it

Send your invitations as follows:
#10 envelope with the mini catalog , and an index size card that states:
Come Join (hosts name) for an evening of Dining and Wine!
Get your HANDS on experience of how to cook up a FANTASTIC
30 minute dinner and only use 1 skillet!
How you ask? Come and join us!
Bring an univited friend ~ receive a FREE gift!
Get your HANDS on the tools in the kitchen and receive a
FREE SEASON'S BEST!

Good luck!

Well, the good part is that this guy was at the last party and knows what to expect from your interactive style.  I'm always very upfront with hosts letting them know that we will be doing an interactive demo and everyone will get to try out the tools.  I have also learned not to bother with trying to compete with talking.  I actually tell them that the interactive shows are less formal in presentation so we can all just have fun and chat more and listen to me less!  In fact, I did a show this past year where I don't think we talked about PC tools for more than 10 minutes!!  The sales were just as good.  I just make a point to say before we're closing that I really need to tell you a few things before we wrap up or I wouldn't be doing my job.  This is where I talk a bit about stoneware and cookware, mention the host and guest specials, benefits of hosting, recruiting...etc.

Michelle.....thanks for the advice.  I am also always up front with host's and I have had huge success with the interactive show and I also know that it is more informal.  I have clocked in ALOT of shows in the past year but I have never had a show like the one I did for my friend.  There is something worse that a bunch of women sitting around not listening to you and that is a bunch of men.  I love these guys but they were not interested in what I was talking about.  Which is absolutely fine because they spent ALOT of money.  I just don't want to sit there and be a personal chef.

I have to come up with something big....something really good.

I have also done the race shows but something those tend to get a little crazy with food....and tools....flying.

Shoot with good sales, I wouldn't mind being a personal chef. And not having to talk too much, that just makes it easier. I would rack it up as an easy night's work. I did a show, actually two shows in the same family, where the Hostess asked me to make an appetizer, main dish and a dessert. Her and the guests joked that I was a caterer and would I come cook for them too? Haha...I said "Sure as long as you make $500 in orders and pay for the ingredients!" It was a lot of fun. The ladies did a LOT of talking and laughing. I ended up getting another show booked and a recruit. Never underestimate what people are thinking while they're having a good time! =D

I would stay with the same style that you did before, he mus have liked that.

Honestly, if he is praising the products, he'll sell them for you!!!

Or ask him what he would like to do.
