I was sitting here contemplating the next addition to our paranormal collection, clicking through ghost cams and such, when I realized that I may not have a cam... but I certainly have had ghostly encounters of my own to share. I saw a picture somewhat like the ones I had taken of my mother a year or two ago... For years when anyone took my moms picture a white/gold/orange light would appear in the picture in various sizes and placements in early years its a speck or squiggle, something that looks like a mar on the photo, nothing to be concerned with ... however, in recent years it has become a vertical bar of light that appears between the camera and her. It has been known to 'stand' beside my kidlet in a few photos as well. About 2 years ago I finally caught it in motion on film... pure luck. We were out in the back yard, and I was casually taking pictures of my mom as she came out of the house and began puttering around the yard. Nothing was visible to us as we chatted and hung around the pool. However, once the photos were developed (I still have set around here somewhere) you could see the light move up from the celler steps and over her shoulder, it traveled horizontally across the pool towards her (where 2 frames mark its progress), then it slides through the air just above her head. The next few photos show nothing, but the last full body shot of my mother has it once again a vertical light floating before her. Usually its a heavy blaze of light that only the camera sees, but there was an instance when kidlet looked at one of these pictures and asked if it was the same 'white man' that lived with Grandy (this is in reference to the entity she saw walking down my mothers hall one night ... a ' tall white see-through man ') I'm hoping to learn more about this phenomena/entity in the future... Mom has given me permission to set up microphones in her house one night. I am curious in a spooked way to see if there is another piece of the puzzle to be had. I've been reading alot about EVP (see related thread) while waiting for the funds to buy equipment to set up this exploration ... I do expect it to talk to me.. why? thats another story ... but rest assured I'll let you know if it does. |

I wonder if IR photography or thermal imaging has ever been used for ghost photography? People report a room becoming cool when ghosts are about and you'd think there could be a way to pick that up with newer photographic technologies. --L.B. |

Thats very cool. I would be interested in hearing what happens as well. My sister has orbs and pieces of light that show up in pictures of her. My son finds orbs when he takes pics on the digital as well. He had a friend who had lots in her bedroom. My neice recently had an entity follow her around the house all day. They have had a variety of different 'ghosts' visit them for whatever reason. I find it neat as well as scary. Devine |

Who is this entity? This is one of the questions I will be asking my kin if they accept my invitation to sup. We have a vague impression of the entity beyond photos, he has been known to manifest as a scent/perfume and kidlet has seen him and describes him as an 'all white see-through man' (clothes are white as well according to her. I have seen him out of the corner of my eye and as a darker shadow at the foot of the bed when I sleep over. The 2nd to last time I slept over I was so irritated with the coming and going it drove me crazy all night long. I was (as usual) the last one up, my mom and daughter were asleep upstairs behind closed doors as I sat and watched tv quietly in the diningroom ... for 45 minutes he walked down the stairs, past the doorway of the dinning room and into the kitchen, then back again ... he paced this circuit over and over until I thought I was either going to scream or throw something at him! Finally I gave in and went to bed. I remember closing the door and getting comfortable, then opening my eyes to see the door open to the dark hall beyond. I got up and closed it, making sure it clicked, I laid down and turned to face the window ... but it was like turning your back when you knew you shouldn't, I turned over and yes, the door was open again. I got up and muttered a few bad words and closed it again. This time I decided not to open my eyes again for any reason, lol If I could will myself to sleep, the night would be over. Instead I lay there listening for the door and not wanting to look... instead what I got was the vague feeling of something leaning against the foot of the bed 'staring' at me. I finally drifted off, but it was an uneasy sleep since I woke constantly to the open bedroom door and something in the room watching me. By the time I got up the next morning he was gone from the bedroom and I was a very growly woman. I told my mom flat out that either he had best let me sleep next time or I was "exercising his ass" no matter what anyone said .... lol yeah I was a tad touchy (annoying damn thing). We still have encounters, him and I but either I've gotten better at ignoring him or he's found something else to do. |
