The Pagan Nomads Dictionary was designed to promote positive networking and learning for Pagans, especially for Solitary Practitioners who do not have a support network through a coven, circle, grove, or other formally organized group. This dictionary reflects the diversity of Paganism, including terms from Wicca, Witchcraft, Druidry, Ceremonial Magick, Alchemy, Shamanism, and many other traditions, paths and religions. The Pagan Nomads Dictionary is a work in progress and we anticipate that it will take many years to complete. The definitions in these pages have been researched and reflect the original meaning of the word when there is a disparity between neo-pagan and historical use. The historical definitions are derived from pagan and occult sources, rather than mainstream writings to ensure that religious bias in perspective is minimized. Every effort has been made to ensure that these definitions reflect the general definitions across many traditions and we have flagged definitions that are used to mean something specific in a particular tradition like Alchemy. This dictionary is intended to be posted on your websites. MSN Communities does not allow bookmarks in web pages, so, to make this a useable reference, any definition is repeated fully under all the known names for it, as the pages are split alphabetically. |
