Weirdville. The paranormal place in my life, where spirits and well ... general weirdness dwells. For the past 2 days kidlet has been popping out of various rooms and off the phone to ask me if I've called her or what did I want (when no such calling of child had occurred) I've watched her actually turn around and ask me "What?" when in fact I had said nothing. Twice she came out of the shower to see why I was calling her. This has happened about 12-15 times over the last couple days. Tonight when she was going to sleep in my room, her eyes were closed and she says "who was that trying to get on the bed?" (the cats) there was nothing there, then she sat up to look and said she felt something sit on the bed. She lays back down, closes her eyes and says while settling back in "something was trying to get on or under the bed. It sleeps here" Now mind you, I'm looking at her and can tell shes almost asleep, so I didn't ask her anything. But having felt exactly that impression on the bed (roughly the same area) a number of times myself, my stomach kinda did a little flip. Okay I admit that the words 'it sleeps here' didn't sit well with me either, lol So anyways, I find myself back to the concept of paranormal communication. When you believe in the spirit realm, how do you tune into certain elements ... like ghosts and spirits? I happen to believe they exist, I've grown up in a paranormally active environment and accept that 'something' exists beyong the pale and occassionally interacts with us. But because of this I'm skittish around paranormal manifestations of any kind, I may believe in ghosts but I don't like them despite the fact that they are evident in the family, and usually perfer they keep their distance. So I keep telling myself I'm going to explore this branch and maybe learn to bridge the communication gap between myself and these things ... but just how does one go about learning mediumship? I have some ideas I'll try out and some new resources and opportunities that should come in handy. Although I've hosted Dumb Suppers, I've never done a seance ... I wonder if thats an option... Hmmmm |

I've been wondering how you've been getting along with your ghosties, lately. There are people here in town who have seances, but I've never yet had a chance to attend one. That sounds like a good idea to me. Better if you can find someone experienced to oversee it. You've mentioned before that kidlet seems to be attuned to the spirits around. However, I can't remember how many times I've stepped out of the shower, sure that I heard someone or the phone ringing, ect. You might wanna check her hearing since she keeps hearing you talking when you're not. Her comment that it "it likes to sleep here..." or however she said it, sent chills down my spine just reading it. I can imagine how it made you feel. Best of luck with the bothersome beasties. ~wabbus |

Hi Red, Is your home a quiet one, or do you play music or watch T.V. regularly. For some reason I got an idea that the right kind of music might send them on. Loud, slightly off beat, or rapid rythm changes. Ringing a bell, discordantly, wind chimes. Perhaps a night light with randomly shifting colors. |

I reread my sent reply and didn't like the way it sounded. I really do need to learn some better communication skills. I meant to sound sincere, and friendly. I will mention a coupla other things and see if it will make things sound better. I am serious about the hearing. The hearing in my right ear is really weird ever since I hit the water REAL hard waterskiing. The older I get the weirder it gets. It's 'background noise' problems. If there is background noise I won't be able to clearly hear the person yelling in my ear next to me, but I can hear the tiniest jingle of a payphone all the way across the room. ect., ect., Hey it can get you in trouble when 'yes' sounds like 'no', if ya get my drift. And, I'll add one more thing, also meaning to be caring. Stress can have a lot to do with hearing sounds. You're jumpy, you're nerves are super sensitive. Maybe kidlet is beginning to worry and wonder about the upcoming school year. Brightest Blessings ~wabbus |

I've known that theres something 'around' for quite a while, however I don't know if its attached to one of us, is local or what. The physical sensation that kidlet reacted to is something I , myself have felt. In fact, the last time was about 3 weeks ago ... was laying on my stomach when I felt something 'sit' on the bed, then lean into my foot, at first I thought it was a cat until my whole left foot started buzzing. I quickly pulled my foot away and turned over only to see ... nothing. My foot stopped buzzing immediately with just a light tingle left over. Anyways, I've experienced the touch, the weight, the buzz, a sense of presence and an occassional brushing past of something unseen in this house ... most often in my room but not confined to it. Other people have reacted to 'something' in my room, kidlet does on occassion although the cats don't (granted they are often out of sight when events happen) Anyhow ... I'm not trying to convince anyone just explain why I think its necessary to study methods of communication. Besides, some of you may remember back when my mom went into the hospital and all manner of things started happening ... well I had kinda made a deal that if it would stop harassing me, I'd learn how to communicate... well so far I haven't upheld my part of the deal. Well Wisdomslove ... considering the measures I go to to keep a physcically clean home, the fact that they/it is here is reason enough for me to want to investigate things, lol Sometimes I just can't help it and my curiousity gets the best of me. Hey Wabbus, I know what you mean about the tricks our hearing does and its not above consideration. However the incident on the bed was what caught my attention because I have never, ever mentioned my expewriences to her.. Have a great night you two :o) Red |

I think the idea of clanging bells is pretty kewl. In my case, all I have to do is try to sing and it scares away everything. And everybody. lol ~wabbus |

Red,
I find this very interesting, but then, you know me and ghosts! ;P I'm really not sure what to tell you. All my life, I have been able to sense other presences and even communicate with them on some level. But my abilities seem to tie in very closely with my empathy. I didn't actually become a full blown medium until just a few years ago. It was a very unnerving experience to suddenly find myself outside my body with someone else in it trying to communicate. :S And though it has happened several more times, it is still somewhat unnerving. But the ways in which I deal with various spectres, spirits and haunts depends entirely on the situation and what I am sensing from them and the information that I get from/about them. So. . . I'm not real sure what to suggest here since I don't know more about the situation. The only things I might could suggest are simply finding a quiet time, setting whatever wards/shields you feel might be necessary and focus on the entity. See what kinds of emotions or images you can pick up. I could give it a try, but the distance between us would go very heavily against me. Not to mention the fact that it would probably be better for you to do. It might help put you a little more at ease for future experiences. As always, my dear, if you have anymore questions or just want to talk about it more, let me know.
Also, you can try a cleansing and shielding of your home. If the spirit is malevolent, then this should get rid of it. Unfortunately, it has been my experience that this sometimes has to be repeated off an on over time to keep the spirit out. It depends on why the spirit is in the house in the first place; if there is something tying it to the house or lands or an object in the house.
Like I said, if you would like any more advice, just let me know. I'll be happy to help out in any way that I can.

Speaking of my bad hearing. Yesterday I was sitting and talking to a neighbor out on the balconey, just the two of us, basically quiet. He said he had bought 2 chickens. I asked him if was going to the Walton Arts Center. I got a strange look from him. He repeated that he had bought 2 chickens to cook on the grill. I thought he had said that he bought 2 TICKETS. ~wabbus |

Hi Gypsy ... I often get the feeling I'm not alone and just have gotten used to it. Theres been 2 times that I've been at a public ritual and felt the same low buzzing touch my back ... I dunno, I just think its worth the investigation. Though I admit ghosts make me skittish and nervous, I want to know if this communication bridge can be built, know what I mean? So don't be surprised if I do have questions for you and anyone else who deals in mediumship, spiritualism or paranormal study :o) Wabbus ... that was funny :o) |
