I live by the seasons, I live to explore nature whenever I can... I look to it for comfort, guidance and to be spirituailly sustained. The whole natural world lives in my soul... I feel the skies, limitless in my mind and look to them often, I feel the earth pulling at my bones and holding firm my step, I feel the waves crash against the walls within and know that life continues to move to its own rythym ... Lately, I am being driven to seek out those places where I can stand and feel it all. I've started walking-out-about again, for years my valley satisfied these urges and cravings of the soul. I would lose myself in the woods day after day seeking the hidden places, walking from one end to the other. In the woods, I learned much about myself, ... things that I needed to grow and sink my spirit into. I learned to connect with the earth in a way I had never imagined ... lol its one thing to visualize the power of earth, but remember what it was like to sleep cradled in the branches of a sun dappled tree? or slip quietly along natures footpaths? or dig your fingers into the dirt? ... Anyways, my time in the valley has changed and I find myself seeking outward again for a the next stage of my learning. Today, I went to the lake again, it was dark and violent ... its been calling me often and I have been pacing its shores almost relentlessly regardless of weather. Looking at the current course of my life right now, it doesn't surprise me that Water is the next lesson... unnerving it is, but necessary. My relationship with the element and its psychological manifestations is rarely amusing and usually unappreciated ... lol in fact... right now I feel like the rock the water is crashing against, the trick will be in becoming one with the wave. And so the lesson begins. I often wonder how many others live their lives in similar manners... how do you connect to our world? When do you seek it out? Is it a daily gift to yourself or do you have to wait til the walls close in? Where do you go? Where is your heart's place in the wild world? |

I let the chaos of the world wash over me like water off a ducky...I meet life's challenge and put forth my personal best. I take solace in music to resonate my soul in harmony and joy. I study the mystery and wonder all around me and seek truth in learning as well as knowledge.
I commune with nature by rolling my window down when I drive to the office each morning and then again when I go home. LOL just kidding...
I like to walk at sunrise or sunset in my barefeet and absorb the energy of the sun when it is less damaging. In the early morning hours it is easy to appreciate the beauty and grace of nature that is gifted to each of us anew with each new day. In the evening it is easy to appreciate the events of that day and reflect on my own humble contributions in the moments of that day with quiet thanks for the oppurtunities afforded that day.
I look inside myself for strength when I am presented with challenges and learning oppurtunies. I live in an urban area, lots of parks and stuff like that but I prefer to relax at home with a book or online enjoying the of many people that I would never have the chance to meet but for the internet. It is a very nice way to meet new people for shy 'ol me. I still am surrounded with nature, its just in the form of a table instead of a tree and the wild animals in my "valley" (apartment) are my cats and my daughter. Its amazing what I have learned from those primitive little critters....

Good Morning, I can agree with so much you've said, even the santcuary of home is hugely important to me. I work and live in the city as well, but have managed to live by as much nature as I can ... the bigger the greenspace the better, so when I moved to this nasty, dirty industrial town a decade ago, I could barely breath and was sick for weeks upon arrival, lol So I moved literally right beside a stretch of land containing 40 000+ trees and promptly lost myself in it for 9 years :o) As for the household wild life and inner strength ... yeah, I agree. However ... I take as much spiritual solace from nature more then anywhere else and I've learned a lot from it. Probably in ways I might not have in the comfort of my own home, as far as I'm concerned I'm on a evolving path with nature as my guide. Having said that ... with Water at the helm, its going to be one helluva ride, lol |

I love to lay still on the ground and relax so that I can feel the movement of the Earth. the wind lulls me into a state of bliss. The sounds of Nature's creatures are music to me. When I am stressed I love to dig in the dirt and feel the coolness of it. I love to work with the plants in my garden and see them flourish. Where I live now there is a green belt behind our property. Ancient trees sway and sing in the wind. At times you would think there was an ocean crashing near by. Its so beautiful. I am needing to get back in touch with nature. I have been dormant for a while. Now its time for rebirth and reconnection. Good luck with your water adventure Red. It sounds like you are being lead there with a great purpose. I look forward to hearing what comes of this. Devine |

Red, I am blessed to live
with nature surrounding me and over the years it has been such a source of
healing, of joy and of peace. When I am away from home and in the city
whether for a few hours or a day, I miss that special connection
dreadfully. It's lack is quite draining. Often the first thing I do when I
get back is hug one of my trees (druid thing) :-P sit beneath
it, close my eyes for a few minutes and soon all is right with my world
again...
Love,

Well... looks like school is in session today, lol I'm just waiting to hear back from work before I head to the lakeshore. I was thinking to myself as I headed to the bus this more that it was such a beautiful day that it was a shame I'd have to spend it indoors. I got to my school for the day only to find that I wasn't needed after all (their mistake not mine, so I may even get paid in full for the screw up) so I've decided to head back to the beach after I hear from work ... I'm thinking its going to be a great day Bright Blessings, All |

Big . Thats always nice. I used to get those at the nursing agency. They call, I go, don't need me. I get paid anyway. I understand that this might sound trite to some, but it's not for me. For 5 years now I have made this my practice. I don't allow my mind to just wander where it chooses. This allows me to keep depression, and might have beens at bay. It keeps me awake to beauty, and nature. It allows me to make decisions with a clear and uncluttered mind. My hearts place in the world is in the present. I feel it most keenly outside, or in my home. Blessings, Lace |

OK you got me....my laziness is only exceeded by my lack will to anything that involves physical exertion...
Actually I do enjoy walking (to my computer), I just prefer sitting and studying all things online. I am a google junkie...the vast wilderness of my imagination drives me with an insatiable quest to learn all that I can about everything. Not that nature doesn't offer many ways of learning, it is the best reference for geometry and the endless variation achieved by subtle nuance in color and perspective. Sometimes I go out and lay in the empty field across the street from my home and gaze at the stars. The overwhelming space and simple beauty of contrasting the points of light with the profound black is sublime and never fails to take my breath away.
The same feeling comes to me in reading and learning from study, my minds eye is dazzeled by the visions that words can bring when the subject is dear to the heart and soul. I grew up in the wilderness, I still love wide open spaces and the tranquil beauty of nature undisturbed by the encroachment of civilization but I am searching for answers to questions that are more suited to formal study of books.
