The Greater Source is both without and within. When you pray you're speaking to your own Higher Self.

Prayer might work sometimes. I think it depends on the one doing the praying, the type of prayer, and upon chance. Through prayer, someone who's consciousness accidently touches upon the forces of manifestation may influence or change the course of manifestation. Some consciousnesses may more readily touch and influence the forces of manifestation than others. Still others may during or because of the process of prayer occasionally touch upon the forces of manifestation. I've examined many mainstream and old school philosophies on the existance of higher spiritual beings and on the existance of our own higher self as the source of our enlightenment. I know I am not connected to all things and consciousnesses and forces, nor am I the source of all things I am conscious of, nor is there one source or cause for anything. I believe in the ability to consciously connect with an alternate manifestation of my consciousness from another alternate dimension and state of being that may or not be percievable as being much higher than my own. Time, space, and dimensions are mental constructs that can be breached by those who realise they are only alternative view points and potentials. Our consciousness can both connect and touch upon other alternate consciousnesses of ourselves and disconnect. Not all things are always connected or are influencable to eachother. There are godlike or devine consciousnesses some of us may ascend to at some point of our potential and our two manifested potentials may manifest a way to touch upon and influence eachothers manifestation when desired or needed. But there are also potentials that we may never realise, and are altenative infinite potential beings independant of all our potential manifestations. Meaning, there are indeed spiritual beings that seldom, or may never have anything to do with us at any level unless we both independantly seek to or accidently forge some sort of a connection for however long and for whatever purpose. Thus, some prayers might be heard and answered by powers well outside and beyond our infinite realms of existance, manifestation, and being sometimes as well.

Are you saying that each of us has a different 'Greater Source', one unique to only yourself?

 

Or are you saying that we are not praying to anything.  That the source is within ourselves, only, no 'Greater Source' really exists?
