Yes, okay... I admit that I've got rocks in my head today, lol

Lately I have been literally craving hematite. I've recently been re-introduced to it again after not touching it for years, my sister bought me a hematite necklace and earring set  for my birthday. I liked it instantly! Then I started noticing my reaction to it... theres an occult store here in town, which the only game in town (his competitors never last long sadly) and without fail EVERY time I walk in that store its like walking through a cobweb or mist and I get a headache within 15 minutes (its taken me years to get used to the shopkeeper) ... well I went in wearing my hematite set and magnet/hematite braclet and was absolutely fine... even Nym noticed that I was calmer and actually stayed much longer then usual.. I figured it had to be the stones since that was the only thing different.

Next instance was last week, we had some really volitile weather and I was feeling it like a drill between the eyes, but I had commitments and errands... again I chose my hematite pieces. Not consciously though, they just went with my outfit, lol. The necklace has a screw clasp... well the darn thing unscrewed and dropped into my shirt before I left, I figured I hadn't tightened the clasp correctly, so I made sure to do it right the second time... well I was over having coffee with Runreg and enjoying her company when she pointed out that the hematite hooks were coming out of my earlobes... they're an inch long!! (how the heck could they slide out??) I reached up to fix them and noticed that my necklace had dropped into my shirt again!...lol... I'm thinking 'What is with this stuff ??'  So I put it back on and continue my visit, when I left the weather was a strange brew and I could still feel it sitting in my head and from past experience I should have been laid out with a migraine by that point, however I wasn't... it stayed manageable until I got home... where the necklace fell of again!. I put it away after that.

Well, yesterday I went to the mall with kidlet and I went into one of my favorite stores ... we meant to only look around, but then I spoted the hematite rings. Guess who had to have one? lol... I found 'my' ring immediately. Now maybe this is a chick thing but...I raised my hand to admire it and happened to focus behind my hand ... there hanging amoungst copper and silver were about 6 hematite necklaces. Yep... you know what happened next. 'Mine' was hidden behind them, I tried it on ...( its a heavy piece, I can feel the cool weight  across my collar) and walked straight to the cashier. My daughter was speechless as her cautious shopper mom has never done such a thing, lol. Expensive impulse buying is NOT encouraged.

I've never 'craved' a stone before, not really... I've admired a few and worked with many, and wouldn't claim any kind of affinity to any specifically. However, I have noticed that the ones that I'm going to need turn up... but never a flock of them, its a tad weird.

Anyways, the point of my long ramble is that I'm curious to know if you fancy a particular stone and why?

Me personally, i have never been drawn to any particular rock...but i do have a little past time where i mess with rocks every so often...silly stuff like taking another stone and grinding a depression into a larger one..once having a nice depression i leave the little rock in it...no real purpose for it..jsut something i can spend hours doing without and rhyme nor reason for it....

I can completely relate to this, and I have a pretty interesting story behind it.

A few months ago I was having family troubles, so my husband invited some of his friends over to help us sort things out. One of his friends was a stone reader, and as he read my personality and troubles in the stones he pointed to the amethyst, that was positioned far away from the rest. The amethyst is the healing stone, he told me, and that my main problem was that I was being too defensive of my soul wound and lashing out at the people who really wanted to help me heal.

Now, I've been incredibly lost in my own personal pains for a long time.

I've also been obsessed with amethysts for just as long.

I didn't really understand why, but amethysts really appealed to me. I wanted to wear them, and hold them, and I named a character in one of my stories Amethyst. I realize now that I was trying to heal, and so I was pulling all of that healing energy toward me.

As of right now, I am more interested in leopard skin jasper. I like looking at them, because they look like they have little landscapes painted onto them. There's something mesmorizing and comforting about looking at those distant lands in the rocks.
