Well, my two cents as someone from the US:
I stopped saying the Pledge of Allegiance once I realised what it meant. Actually thought, isn't it kind of funny to pledge allegiance to a flag, anyway? Actually have started to enjoy Total Chaos's Pledge of Defiance lyrics: http://www.plyrics.com/lyrics/totalchaos/pledgeofdefiance.html
As for the National Anthem...it's great to have a national anthem with war built in! :o)
