Hi Badger ... errr Furfa (?)

I understand the mechanics behind the 'bubble effect' now, but when I first started guarding the circle and observing it in many states, it was an interesting phenomenon - one I've gotten used to when it occurs, which isn't often. I've noticed that it only happens when the group is totally in sync with each other and becomes a cohesive unit whether its raising energy for a 'working' or simply being co-joined in the experience. I've noticed that if there is a new comer or someone is there in body but not whole-heartedly or someone is ill then its not as cohesive as it can be. Same goes with priesthood ... some are much better at circle casting then others (a tangible difference). There isn't really a LBRP for those outside the circle thats up to the guardian, but there is a series of purifications and sweeps for inside the ritual space that cleanses and balances the energies therein - which also helps set the participants headspace as a kind of trigger to sacred space.

Hey there Imbas ...

That bit of prose is one of the Odyssean wine blessings, used to signify dualities & balances in the cyclic nature of life. There are other wine blessings, but that one I find appropriate to the harvest season - seed (born) to flower (live) to harvest (die) and back again to seed. I agree that our energy state is more fluid then that bit of prose provides but for the purpose of focus and intent, this one has a working place in ritual. For instance the line "To live you must suffer" ... well I simply don't agree, I'm having a great time learning new stuff!

This is the whole of it (currently under revision because some consider it politically incorrect and out-dated) ...

The Wine Blessing

P the male holds the power

and is the reservoir of the power

PS the female taps the power in him and channels it

Both neither one can work without the other

one without the other is incomplete

P the Horned God is a God of life and death

PS the Goddess is of birth and renewal

Both to learn you must suffer

to live you must be born

to be born you must die

the beginning, the continuation and the end

P the sun brings forth light
