Well you see theres the crux of it ... I'm not interested in the jewish faith (at all) but I am curious about a system geared towards self-evolution that has reportedly survived for thousands of years. Most of the sites I've explored are either heavily jewish or can not dis-engage the cultural heritage that spawned the kabbalah .... why would they? would seem the next logical question ... well I have a found a stream of kabbalah that insists that the entire system is a scientific tool designed to understand the spiritual world, one that can open the hidden world to senses not designed to perceive this level of evolution of the self or spirit.
Knowing some of the folks I do, this is almost impossible to do without religion, magic, mystism or other occult systems (such as non-jewish hermetic lodges). After all if the goal is spiritual realization how do you do this without understanding the many branches or roads the spirit can take? One can not build a house with only a hammer. My curiousity is engaged in this, besides I was recently told that my last public ritual had a kabbalistic feel to it and I want to know why.
